There are three noteworthy car chases in my opinion

Bullet because it was really the first truly great movie car chase.

French Connection because it was even better than Bullet.

Finally Blues Brothers because, let's face it, they singlehandedly wiped out half of Detroit's production for a week making that car chase!

They wiped out about three million cars, AND a shopping mall.

It just doesn't get better than that.

Exactly why I didn't include that one...it was a clone of the French Connection, I quite agree.

It didn't break any new ground in the filmography car chasing arts if you get my drift.

The one in the Blues Brothers was pretty good !

I came here to say this.

As did I. That movie had several great chases.

The Mall one stands out for the sheer randomness of it but the highway one was good too.

Edit: Here is the car chase I was talking about.

Grandaddy of em all is still the best 'Bullit.' Also that chase on the wrong side of the freeway in 'To Live And Die In LA' was pretty crazy too. Check this out!
