I tuned in to the Discovery channel series about shark attacks and watched the fools use fish guts to lure sharks close to an apparent tourist beach in Fla just to make a point that sharks will attack in shallow water. That's bad enough but the self described Green Beret medic presumes to advise civilians how to deal with the victim of a shark attack. Direct pressure on a gaping wound is a good idea in combat if you are dealing with Military personnel who presumably have been screened for AIDS. He left out the part where you absolutely need to protect yourself before you consider immersing your hands in a stranger's blood. I guarantee you will never ever see a medical professional touch blood without gloves. If you have an abrasion or a cut on your hands you need to consider the odds before you take heroic action to save a stranger.
