Axios Exclusive: "Frank Luntz previews a feasible immigration compromise"...Luntz claims GOP voters want amnesty, support DACA...Tucker exposes Luntz

Why Republicans wouldn't accept this would be strange. Those who fall under DACA aren't going anywhere anyway.

The wall while looking like you won something won't stop people from coming here to fill the law wage jobs.

Immigration reform is amnesty, plain and simple, and that's the last thing this country needs. Anyway, you can't reform anything without having a secure border first and Biden has destroyed any hope of border security. As far as Luntz goes, he sucks. He always has. He's a GWB-John McCain like Republican.

Since it's actually impossible to secure the border as you can't put walls up everywhere, I guess we will have no reform and people will come to work illegally like always just like business wants.

Republicans had an opportunity to pass Immigration reform under TRUMP when they were in a position to control the compromises, and instead of taking advantage of their position they fought against TRUMP and securing the border. I'm not just talking about the rinos, even the pro-TRUMP elected republicans were fighting TRUMP over his policy on citizenship for DREAMERS, and now they are left with allowing democrats to define the policy hoping they can score a small breadcrumb of compromise.

Polling is either worthless or outright deceptive if the questions asked are manipulated. "We" should all realize that by now.

Almost NO Americans want the thirty million people who are currently in the country illegally to be granted voting citizenship. If that is NOT the question presented, then the results of the poll are bullshit.

Any question that conflates the two statuses of "immigrant" and "illegal alien" is bullshit. Most Americans support immigration because most Americans are either immigrants themselves, or are descended from legal immigrants. But supporting IMMIGRATION and supporting citizenship for the thirty million border jumpers is like saying that if I support making legal bank withdrawals, I therefore support bank robbery. They are OPPOSITES, not the same thing.

The only tenable COMPROMISE is as follows:

Establish a set of standards and principles by which "illegals" can be evaluated. Have they been here for at least X years? Are they law abiding? Are they paying taxes (other than FIT)? Are they employed? Are they ON ANY FORM OF WELFARE?

If the answers to those questions are acceptable, then they will be granted permanent residency IN EXCHANGE FOR A LIFETIME WAIVER OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP! I.e., If you came here illegally (or over-stayed a visa), you can never vote.

If the answers are not correct, then GTFO, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. You are officially persona non grata.

And the employment counterpart to "build a wall" is to vigorously enforce the I-9 laws, with criminal sanctions to employers and supervisors who knowingly employ those who are not authorized to work in the U.S. Why we don't do this now is a total mystery to me.

One party primarily wants mass migration for the votes, the other party for slave wage labor. The real question shouldn't be who will help secure the borders. The question should be, when will Americans take back their country?
Before some Left stumbling wit tells me I'm naive, remember that this little nation of ours still exists and functions (at a profit) because the majority are willing to "buy-in" and support the big machine that is Capitalism. The operative word there is SUPPORT. Piss off enough working people and they might just start filling the streets and copying their erstwhile brethren in Antifa and Burn, Loot, and Murder. Sauce for the goose and all that jazz.
Luntz is a disgusting shill.

What was he supposed to do? I know it's very difficult to remember a time when the corruption in DC wasn't so in-your-face but when Reagan signed that bipartisan bill, he actually had an expectation that its framework WOULD BE honored. It says a lot about us today that even the willingness to trust and cooperate are now worthy of mockery.
Here is the promise he chose to believe:
in 1986, Ronald Reagan signed a sweeping immigration reform bill into law. It was sold as a crackdown: There would be tighter security at the Mexican border, and employers would face strict penalties for hiring undocumented workers.

At various times over the years, there have been other plans that would promise the same kind of reforms. The reason none were enacted is simple. The parties NEED that open border. If a good ole boy from deepest, darkest Alabama can see why nothing changes, there is NO excuse for others not to understand it.

Nothing is 100% but we could put farting Gypsy women on the border and that would repel more IAs than what Biden has done.

That's true but lets not forget that Democrats had the majority when Trump made his offer and Dems. decided they were not going to give Trump an immigration victory even though they had been chasing it for years.

Ryan was speaker during Trump's first two years when Trump was still trying to dismantle DACA. Even so, Ryan was never a Trump ally.

Excuse making for Reagan....do you have excuses for his Iran-Contra Affair too? For his getting rid of open carry in California when he was governor?

Just read Ryan meet with Cheney the other day. Ryan said he thinks support for TRUMP will fade. These people are clueless to why people despise them.
