This is the moment a Ukrainian vehicle is hit while withdrawing from Avdiivka. The soldiers inside the vehicle survive the explosion and go on to fire back through the rear door.

After months of hard fighting, Avdiivka has now fallen to Russian forces. The town is located in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.



Footage shows Russian strikes on the large coke plant in the north of the town. The plant was one of the last Ukrainian military holdouts before it withdrew. Another video apparently shows the strikes from the perspective of the Ukrainian soldiers inside.Russia claims that the Ukrainian withdrawal was rushed and chaotic. Ukraine says its withdrawal was well-organised and successful despite coming under fire. Elite Ukrainian military units pushed back into Avdiivka to create an evacuation corridor. Russian flags are now flying in Avdiivka.

In a matter of fact it was 3rd Assault Brigade (ex-Azov) who left their positions at Koksokhim without an order, and provoked panic retreat of other forces from Avdiivka (now - Avdeevka again).
