I personally don't give a crap, and this is not an empire in "decline." Several of the firearms I own were physically taken away from Japanese Imperialist or Nazi troops. So why aren't our soldiers allowed to do that these days?

But Canada, which has a tax code which works better for lower income families, and a healthcare system which isn't being run to the benefit of shareholders and corporate medicine.

Americans keep saying they can't afford universal health care. Bullshit. White Americans don't want to pay good money for black and brown people to have health care. Just like they don't want to have to pay for poor people to get an education.
