In Italy, Matteo Salvini, the Interior Minster and Deputy Prime Minister has pledged to loosen the European boot’s tough gun laws. In 2014, there were 400,000 applications filed for gun permits. In 2018, that number rose to 600,000. Back in October, Mr. Salvini told the Italian public that, “Defense is always legitimate! From words to action.”

And according to the Centers for Disease Control, on average, Americans use their guns 1.1 million times a year to defend themselves....rapes that are stopped, robberies that are stopped, murders that are stopped....

And yet gun crime in London was up 42%...up 23% across England and Wales....and homicides? Their murder rate has always been lower than the U.S. even before they banned guns....so guns were never an issue in their murder rate.....

You are by no means "safe", as the necessary tools for your own self-protection have been snatched away from you.

Al you can do when your life is threatened is run away, hide, or scream in terror while hoping the police show up in time to prevent you from being killed. But they seldom ever do. All they can do is mop up the blood, draw a chalk-line around your body, haul your room-temperature carcass off to the morgue, and hope to solve the crime.

We on the other hand, are proactive. Granted there are shootings in the large urban areas, mostly by minorities and mostly with stolen or illegally-purchased firearms. But any sane person in this country has armed and trained themselves sufficiently to not be the victim you have the potential to become.
