I was hooked on that damned game in the late 90's. Then I got the cheat that gave me unlimited weapons, and lost interest when internet porn came along.

Played it when it first came out on floppy disk. At the time it was ground breaking. Played Maze, most people have not heard of it.

Not to sound like a whiny old party pooper.... I honestly never could waste my time with games*, but now that my 2 sons are grown, at least I won't have to waste any more money on them. We probably forked out at least $5000 over 20 years between Nintendo, Play Station and X Box. So except for occasional NFL lines, guitar and pool are about the only things I play. ( an old girlfriend from HS sends me word games on Facebook so I play along every now and then to keep her happy. It's the closest to playing Scrabble for me in 35 years about)

*Good training though. In case you ever decide to join the Air Force and fly
drones over the Congo or someplace.

I haven't played Doom since Doom 2.
If you use Linux you can still play the old Doom but you have to do a little tweaking.
