AMERICANS HEAD TO MEXICO FOR JOBS
By Frank Lake on April 24, 2012
MEXICO CITY – Americans, in the hundreds of thousands, are crossing the border into Mexico -looking for work.
There were ZERO jobs created in the United States last week. Unemployment remains over 9.1% and if you consider all the Americans that have stopped looking for work, the number is closer to 20%.
The answer for a large group of Americans: Mexico.

Mexico Unemployment Rate
Mexico Unemployment Rate was recorded at 4.93 in August of 2012. Historically, from 2000 until 2012, Mexico Unemployment Rate averaged 3.67 Percent reaching an all time high of 5.93 Percent in May of 2009 and a record low of 2.22 Percent in November of 2002. The unemployment rate can be defined as the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labour force. Is he retarded? We don’t need to make it easier for more people to enter this country to do jobs Americans do not have. We have 12.5 million Americans unemployed. We have college graduates that can not even find jobs at Wal-Mart or McDonalds are going to Mexico to look for work. Asia, India and China.
And Obama give work permits to millions who are in the country illegally and stop deportation for only violent criminals. What the hell do they not understand about we do not have jobs for American much less for those in the country illegally. So what do Obama do? Put them on food stamps, medical care and welfare via anchor babies that is multiplying like flies to get the free stuff.

That should say something about Obama's Policies. LOL.

Farmers blame tight immigration for labor shortage in fields

Oregon farmers say declining immigration from Mexico has spawned a labor shortage, forcing them to leave fields of ripened fruit untouched, raise wages for farm workers and turn to machinery for harvesting crops they would prefer to pick by hand.

There's the labor demand of which I spoke.

The potential for labor shortages is of keen interest in the Pacific Northwest. Nurseries, orchards and vegetable fields earn farmers a combined $1 billion in Oregon and $3 billion in Washington annually.

Farms in the region are likely to provide a good barometer of what is happening nationally because key crops grown here are particularly labor intensive. Oregon, Washington and four other states – California, Texas, Florida and North Carolina –account for half of the nation's migrant and seasonal farm worker population.

Nationally, farm employment is down 5 percent and farmworker wages are up 2 percent since last year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Oregon data show 10,000 fewer workers were in the fields during the last two picking seasons compared to five years ago.

But many growers say there's plenty of demand for their crops – and they can't find enough people to get them harvested.

There's those entry level jobs you were looking for! Get to it!

Many of Rivers' seasonal workers left for jobs in other industries once they gained legal status, and new immigrants haven't taken their place. Rivers has listings at employment services in Hood River, he said, but in 38 years he's never attracted a worker who wasn't foreign-born.

Like I said. They are taking jobs Americans don't want.

Early in the summer, labor shortages drove some Oregon berry growers to drastic measures. Rod Liepold, a berry farmer in Boring, left eight acres of strawberries to rot because his picking crew was 20 workers short. The untouched berries cost him about $15,000, he said.

We had full employment before the crash. This is a fact.

Here is another fact:

Concerns about the labor supply have grown in recent months since the Pew Hispanic Center reported that the number of Mexican immigrants in the United States had, for the first time in four decades, stopped growing. There may now be a net outflow of Mexican-born U.S. residents, the organization said.

Therefore, Mexicans are not the reason someone can't get a job. The evidence is irrefutable.

Whine all you like, but you cannot change the facts: Mexicans are not costing jobs. Your government is.

If Americans really are flocking to Mexico just wait til they get up-close to the cartels and get a min. wage of <$5 an hour lol.

So I just posted an article saying Oregon farmers can't find workers. They have a labor shortage. Crops are rotting in the field. All these entry level jobs just sitting there, waiting for laborers.

And yet Oregon's unemployment rate is 8.9%. That is higher than the national average!

Still don't believe Mexicans are taking jobs Americans don't want?

Well, there's the evidence. Right there in front of you.

Sorry, but your evidence is nonsense. Your argument is question begging. Any actual labor shortage is predicated on the insistence that workers accept low wages and poor working conditions that are themselves illegal, which is exactly what leads to Americans being unwilling to accept such positions. You know, it wasn't always the case that Americans were unwilling to fill such positions. It only happens so much now, because the jobs conditions have deteriorated.

Check out page 8 of this report about the so called labor shortage. Pay special attention to the story on page 11 about the meat packing industry, and how chasing out the illegals resulted in pay raises and improved working conditions within six months.

See?

The UnConservatives like you are ruining any chances of sanity ever returning to the GOP.

The bullshit you leftists peddle.

First off, I didn't suggest a moratorium on immigration. I instead pointed out the FACT that illegal immigration from Mexico has utterly destroyed the entry level job market, initially in the Southwest, but now virtually nationwide.

Immigration is our nation's lifeblood.

This ain't 1820, pal. We are not an agrarian economy with a lack of brute labor. If we are to compete on a global scale, then we need highly educated, highly skilled workers. You want to bring in millions of unskilled and uneducated people who don't speak the language, to do menial jobs at slave wages. That is exactly the opposite of what the nation needs. Like Obama, you push for a two tiered society of extremely poor, illiterate laborers and a wealthy elite.

There were idiots like you a hundred years ago whining about Europeans coming here and spoke of them like so many head lice.

Yawn.

You lack the educational foundation to conduct a rational analysis. When we had Irish and Italian immigration, the situation was significantly different. The first difference is the fact that Ireland and Italy are across the Ocean, so the reality of the migratory menial labor force that is currently decimating the middle class was not possible. Those who immigrated, were here to stay, not to send waged back to Mexico, but to build futures. Secondly, we were at the dawn of the industrial revolution, heavy industry was on the rise and unskilled labor was in short supply. This is no longer true, unskilled manufacturing labor has virtually all gone to China and other third world enclaves. No doubt you yearn for the return of the button pushers and lever pullers of the 1920's but that is gone - the world has moved on.

Now we have a knowledge based economy, where technological prowess determines economic success.

Yet YOU want to continue the failed policies of the last decades that includes the importation of unskilled labor with no tie to the economic or cultural fabric of society. Your goals are not merely insane, but virtual suicide.

Are you retarded?

You can't see how fake this story is?:confused::confused:

Mexicans are not taking "jobs Americans do not have". They are taking jobs Americans do not want.

Only shortsighted, ignorant, biased fools believe otherwise.

Evidence? Simple. Just take a look at our unemployment rate prior to the recession. We had the same number, if not more, of illegal aliens in this country then as we do now, and yet we had virtually full employment.

Thus, the 12.5 million unemployed Americans were not thrown out of work by Mexicans.

Perhaps you heard of the economic crash a few years ago? THAT is what threw all those people out of work. If you really want to, you can thank Bush for that, but you have to thank Obama for them STILL being out of work after all these years.

When we had full employment, we had the same number of illegals. So this not only screams the fact they are not taking our jobs, it also screams that our government is not meeting the immigrant labor DEMAND with an immigrant labor SUPPLY.

Every prosperous society has a large immigrant labor force.

And so, since our government is not meeting that demand, illegal immigrants are filling that vacuum created by our government.

Every illegal immigrant problem you can name is the direct result of our idiotic government immigration quota system.

If a farmer needs 50 people to harvest his crops, and the goverment policy only provides 10 legal immigrants, he is going to hire 40 illegals to bring in the harvest. He has no choice. It isn't like some suburbanite white guy is standing there jumping up and down to pick oranges for him at ten bucks an hour.

So punishing the farmer for hiring 40 illegals is treating the symptom and not the disease.

Whichever party stops being so fucking stupid first is going to have a lock on the Hispanic citizen vote forever.

Bush got it. But he was jammed up by idiots in his own party.

Too bad. Romney would be way ahead in the polls today if the GOP hadn't fucked themselves in the ass over this particular brand of unwhites.

Hispanics are natural born Republicans. Deeply religious, hard working, family orienteted. But the dumbshits who have hijacked the party think all darkies from across the border are job-stealers, gangstas, or rapists.

It just does not get any dumber than that.

Don't look like Mexicans to me?
And when has illegal aliens been called Americans?
How many Americans do not want to work in Construction where majority of illegal men work?
What else are they?

20 million Mexicans are not picking lettuce in L.A, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Reno, Chicago,New York City, in any inner city doing any kind farm work. If they were doing any kind of farm work, farmers would not have a shortage of workers and crops would not be rotting in the fields. ICE has never raided a lecttuce field.

First off...Weekly World News???? Seriously, that's your source?
Second..in April 2012 the UE rate was not over 9.1%, it was 8.1%. You get 9.5% if you include those who said they are willing and able to work and had been looking for work in the last year for any (mostly personal, not economic) reason. 11.7% if you include those who just say they want a job, regardless of if they could actually take one.

hmmm so you cited April numbers for the US and August for Mexico. Odd. Turns out it doesn't matter, but that's coincidence.

So why are they coming here by the millions? Freebies, Automatic Birthright Citizenship and lucrative crime benefits.
Some. But the reality is how the UE rate is calculated. It's people who did not work at all and are trying to work as a percent of those working and trying to work. In Mexico, there is no Unemployment Insurance (except in Mexico City), so if you're out of work in Monterrey, you need to do something, anything, for money. So people will do odd jobs, day labor, sell things on the street, even for just a couple hours a week, but that's enough to count as unemployed. We don't see as much of that in this country because we do have UI benefits. Adding in "partial employemt" the UE rate is 11.8% My Spanish isn't quite good enough to get a precise definition of that, but if memory serves from talking to Mexican colleagues, it inlcludes those without regular work.

We have 12.5 million Americans unemployed.
That number includes immigrants, legal and illegal (to an extent...the survey doesn't ask about legal status but many illegal immigrants would be reluctant to answer a govt survey at all). About 2 million unemployed are foreign born.

Mexico is a lot like the old Soviet Union, they report a 5% unemployment, but that is only for the favored castes. Mestizos are probably closer to 80% unemployment. It's incredibly corrupt, not just the cartels, but the government - when there is a difference between the two.

Mexico has the 14th largest economy in the world, a far more wealthy nation that Denmark, Norway, or Israel. Yet the majority of the population live in abject poverty. The Indians are treated like dirt, and race determines how for you can go. If you're not white, you won't get far in Mexico.

You pretty much nailed it, the only people who have it worse than the Indians in Mexico are the Blacks, there are Black Mexicans that get treated worse than the dirt under your shoe in that country.

Unemployment For Young Americans Jumps To 52.2 Percent

I think you missed the date of that article. September 27. 2009
But the Huffington Post is misunderstanding the New York Post article, which has a misleading headline.

Let's look at the errors:
The number of young Americans without a job has exploded to 53.4 percent — a post-World War II high, according to the Labor Dept. — meaning millions of Americans are staring at the likelihood that their lifetime earning potential will be diminished and, combined with the predicted slow economic recovery, their transition into productive members of society could be put on hold for an extended period of time.

The number represents the flip-side to the Labor Dept.'s report that the employment rate of 16-to-24 year olds has eroded to 46.6 percent -- the lowest ratio of working young Americans in that age group, including all but those in the military, since WWII
Ok, so the numbers were revised in Dec 2009, but close enough.

The problem is that "Without a Job" IS NOT THE SAME THING AS UNEMPLOYED. A 16 year old high school student who doesn't need or want a job is not unemployed.

But in any case, let's look at the current numbers, not 2009.
In August 2012, the Not Seasonally Adjusted number of 16-24 year olds (not in the military, prison or other institution) was 38,799,000 of whom 18,296,000 were in school and 20,503,000 were not. And a total of 18,171,000 Employed (46.8% of the 16-24 population) (Source: Current Population Survey Table A-16 (add up the enrolled and not enrolled numbers for total for the age group)

Now, the NY Post took the similar numbers and portrayed the % not working (53.2% in Aug 2012) as Unemployed. But let's look. Table A-16 also shows us 3,671,000 Unemployed (defined as looking for work) for an unemployment rate of 16.8% (9.5% of that age's population) High. Very high. But nowhere near the over 50% claimed

As for all the others, not employed and not looking for work, we turn to Current Population Survey Table A-38 and see that of those 16,957,000, 14,837,000 DON'T WANT TO WORK. 1,154,000 haven't tried to work in over a year (so are not a good indicator of the current job market). 216,000 couldn't have started a job in August if handed to them on a plate, and 572,000 stopped looking for reasons that had nothing to do with ease or difficulty of finding a job.

So the HuffPo and the NY Post are prime examples of how to lie with statistics.

The reality is harsh, and Unemployment is enormously high for 16-24 year olds, but nowhere near 50% as claimed.

3 million jobs were created under Bush during 2 terms.
10.5 million were created under Carters 1 term.

Let's look at the Database. Since we're going January to January we'll use the Not Seasonally Adjusted numbers for better accuracy. Total Non-farm payroll jobs:
Jan 1977 = 79,540,000
Jan 1981 = 89,831,000
Change of 10,291,000 under Carter (12.9% increase)

Jan 1989 = 105,708,000
Change of 15,877,000 under Reagan (17.7% increase)

Jan 1993 = 108,021,000
Change of 2,313,000 under G.H.W Bush (2.2% increase)

Jan 2001 = 130,433,000
Change of 22,412,000 under Clinton (20.7% increase)

Jan 2009 = 131,555,000
Change of 1,122,000 under G.W. Bush (0.9% increase)

Switching to Seasonally Adjusted numbers for Obama (because employment patterns are different for Jan and Aug:
Jan 2009 = 133,561,000
Aug 2012 = 133,300,00
Change of -261,000 (-0.2% decrease)
So Obama has 5 months to gain about 1.5 million jobs to equal G.W. Bush.
