People under 50 (maybe even 60) have largely forgotten the “American values” that were inherent in this country’s culture prior to the 1960’s. They see old movies and hear about historical incidents, and to them it is like they describe life on another planet. Thousands of American soldiers gave their lives to capture a little island in the South Pacific from the Japanese? Are you kidding me? It COULD NOT HAPPEN today. An insidious combination of Progressives in our courts and liberals in academe and in “Hollywood” has conspired to devolve American culture into the figurative toilet.

People who work hard, try to stay out of trouble, and achieve success are ridiculed as freaks and ostracized. The culture pretends that great success (other than in entertainment and sports) is always the result of either inheritance or some nefarious activities, completely discounting the NORMAL case where people succeed because of a combination of intelligence, talent, hard work, and careful risk-taking. Neither film nor television exalts people who achieve success by hard work; it’s always the guy who has a 200 IQ and a photographic memory, and doesn’t have to do any actual work to succeed. Not surprisingly, very few people in the Political Class or in Entertainment have ever actually had a real job.

The true idols of this generation are those who achieve outrageous financial success with minimal effort and no talent (hip-hop “artists,”, Miley C, the Car-dashboardians, etc). They make me want to vomit – figuratively speaking.

The personal qualities of modesty, humility, tact, politeness, and being considerate of others are deemed to be indications of weakness or even neurosis. People are expected to do whatever is necessary to draw attention to themselves and their own wonderfulness (see Facebook). Fat, homely girls have acres of their flesh decorated with mindless tattoos and body piercings. Athletes are expected to belittle their opponents and expound on their own greatness in a way never done before (except by professional “wrestlers”).

Being a “victim” has become our greatest growth industry. “He said you have a nice ASS???!!! Sue the bastard! Let’s have a protest march against this intolerable oppression by the male power structure!” And so on.

Making school kids feel good and not hurting their feelings has trumped education in our schools. “Failure” has been re-defined and eroded continually for the past several decades, to the point where it is a valid question whether a typical high school graduate is capable of understanding a simple newspaper article or balancing a checkbook. Good thing they have the right to vote, eh?

People who hold traditional views on morality are literally under siege. Military chaplains who truthfully teach that same-sex sodomy is sinful are threatened with expulsion. Anyone suggesting placing limits on internet (and other) porn are deemed fanatics and Fascists. People who advocate the enforcement of existing immigration laws are called, “racist” (which doubly perverse, since most of the immigrants in question are Caucasian). People who suggest that sexual promiscuity or even adultery are “wrong” are nowhere in evidence in the popular media, except as the object of ridicule.

When courts overturn hundreds of years (or thousands of years) of legal and cultural precedents, using twisted and specious “interpretations” of the U.S. Constitution, there is no public outrage. No one complains that the Courts are taking the issues out of the hands of the People or their elected representatives, it is considered a “good thing.”

Any mention of the “values” of previous generations is peppered with accusations of supervening evil (“Yeah, but did you know that Thomas Jefferson had SLAVES!”). Marginal problems of previous generations are magnified to be universal horrors. The two or three women a year who were seriously harmed by botched abortions before 1973 is deemed a “reasonable” justification for killing hundreds of thousands of babies in the womb each year through legalized abortion.

Pete what you are describing has happened in other nations and it can happen here. I remember years ago meeting a Korean War veteran who had been traumatized by what he'd seen as a young man. The man had taken photographs of what he saw because he wanted Americans to know - this is what I saw! This really happened! This was perhaps 25 years ago? I was cleaning his home for him as he had an operation and was recovering - I had been sharing Christ with him and he had told me he didn't understand the idea of inviting Christ into one's heart. Getting back to the story - he showed me the photographs which seemed to help him feel validated in what he had seen. It was an open air tent and camp full of cannibalized people, dead bodies, a Korean man photographed on a table, he was hogtied with his mouth opened and the expression on his face was one of frozen horror, he had been eaten alive. Sad photos but to be honest with you, Pete. That can happen here because throughout history when famines, wars, etc happened people have eaten their children first. The Bible speaks to this and it is part of a nations suffering that is under judgment.
I recall reading a story about a teenage girl being raped by a gang of illegal aliens a year or two ago (perhaps from Mexico?) To be clear - I do not see any chance of diverting the judgment of God but as salvation is an individual thing I do hold the greatest hope for salvation of as many souls as possible before the day of judgment on America falls. I do not believe God takes any pleasure in the death of the wicked. Surely it must be a grief to Him as it is to anyone who realizes the reality of hell and what eternity has in store for such people (who rejected every call for repentance and to come to Jesus before it is too late)

A true prophetic dream, Syriusly, that someone shared a long time ago.

I'm going by memory so I won't have every detail or word exact for you but this is her story. She is a Christian woman. She dreamed she was sitting in her living room in a house on an open land prairie setting in Kansas reading her bible in the corner of the room in her easy chair - the radio beside her announced bad weather on the way.

She continued to read her bible but looked outside at the gathering storm and noted her curtains on window were blowing on each side more and more ....... the sky darkened to a very dark black grey ominous clouds rolling in, the radio announced an F5 tornado is on the way, just as she was thinking of going to her cellar for safety she noted a young boy romping around in the storm as if he had not a care in the world.

She yelled to him, Come in out of the storm! There is an F5 tornado headed this way - come with me to shelter in the cellar or you'll die out there! The boy stuck out his tongue at the woman, cursing her and shouted, I DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU! I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT TO DO! The woman pleaded with him and again he ignored her and went off to play in the storm - suddenly there in her sight was the F5 tornado barreling across the land straight for her home. She ran below to the cellar - the boy would not come - she had no more time to waste to get to shelter.

The F5 tornado destroyed everything in its path. When she emerged from the cellar everything was gone and the boy was laying in the yard dead with a stick through his eye. ( I forget the significance of that) She said, the next scene in her dream she was standing before a judge concerning the boys death. She told the judge what happened. The judge said, I find you not guilty, you warned him repeatedly, you did all you could to save his life but he would not listen to you. You are innocent.

Then the LORD revealed to her - the dream she had was from Him. The boy represented the world who has rebelled against the Word of God and every warning from the servants of God that there is a great storm coming and if they don't come in and seek refuge in Him (to be saved and live for Jesus) they will be destroyed. As she was faithful to warn the sinner she was not held accountable (guilty) for his destruction.

Joel Chapter 2 tells us that God will give us dreams, visions, revelations of what is to come. There is a terrible storm coming and only those who are in Christ are going to make it. You need to come to Jesus while there is still time, Sryiusly, because the LORD loves you and He desires for you to have eternal life and enjoy heaven. Won't you come? What would prevent you? They see old movies and hear about historical incidents, and to them it is like they describe life on another planet. Thousands of American soldiers gave their lives to capture a little island in the South Pacific from the Japanese? Are you kidding me? It COULD NOT HAPPEN today. An insidious combination of Progressives in our courts and liberals in academe and in “Hollywood” has conspired to devolve American culture into the figurative toilet.

People who work hard, try to stay out of trouble, and achieve success are ridiculed as freaks and ostracized. The culture pretends that great success (other than in entertainment and sports) is always the result of either inheritance or some nefarious activities, completely discounting the NORMAL case where people succeed because of a combination of intelligence, talent, hard work, and careful risk-taking. Neither film nor television exalts people who achieve success by hard work; it’s always the guy who has a 200 IQ and a photographic memory, and doesn’t have to do any actual work to succeed. Not surprisingly, very few people in the Political Class or in Entertainment have ever actually had a real job.

The true idols of this generation are those who achieve outrageous financial success with minimal effort and no talent (hip-hop “artists,”, Miley C, the Car-dashboardians, etc). They make me want to vomit – figuratively speaking.

The personal qualities of modesty, humility, tact, politeness, and being considerate of others are deemed to be indications of weakness or even neurosis. People are expected to do whatever is necessary to draw attention to themselves and their own wonderfulness (see Facebook). Fat, homely girls have acres of their flesh decorated with mindless tattoos and body piercings. Athletes are expected to belittle their opponents and expound on their own greatness in a way never done before (except by professional “wrestlers”).

Being a “victim” has become our greatest growth industry. “He said you have a nice ASS???!!! Sue the bastard! Let’s have a protest march against this intolerable oppression by the male power structure!” And so on.

Making school kids feel good and not hurting their feelings has trumped education in our schools. “Failure” has been re-defined and eroded continually for the past several decades, to the point where it is a valid question whether a typical high school graduate is capable of understanding a simple newspaper article or balancing a checkbook. Good thing they have the right to vote, eh?

People who hold traditional views on morality are literally under siege. Military chaplains who truthfully teach that same-sex sodomy is sinful are threatened with expulsion. Anyone suggesting placing limits on internet (and other) porn are deemed fanatics and Fascists. People who advocate the enforcement of existing immigration laws are called, “racist” (which doubly perverse, since most of the immigrants in question are Caucasian). People who suggest that sexual promiscuity or even adultery are “wrong” are nowhere in evidence in the popular media, except as the object of ridicule.

When courts overturn hundreds of years (or thousands of years) of legal and cultural precedents, using twisted and specious “interpretations” of the U.S. Constitution, there is no public outrage. No one complains that the Courts are taking the issues out of the hands of the People or their elected representatives, it is considered a “good thing.”

Any mention of the “values” of previous generations is peppered with accusations of supervening evil (“Yeah, but did you know that Thomas Jefferson had SLAVES!”). Marginal problems of previous generations are magnified to be universal horrors. The two or three women a year who were seriously harmed by botched abortions before 1973 is deemed a “reasonable” justification for killing hundreds of thousands of babies in the womb each year through legalized abortion.

As for your waiting on the LORD, MG. First you have to believe that God is, right? So perhaps your unbelief canceled out your waiting on Him? Do you follow what I am trying to say to you? I believe the LORD loves you and desires to have a relationship with you. It is you that needs to decide whether or not you want to have one with Him.
