This is the same UAE, which has reached out to Israel, and now people in Israel can go to the UAE for vacations. There’s a lot of love there.

Recently an American citizen was detained in Dubai. The issue was that she was screaming at a rental car manager …. Now that type of behavior might be acceptable in certain countries, but it’s not acceptable in the UAE.

You can look at the following video that shows the local laws and customs in the UAE are different to those of the UK, for example, or other western countries.

The United Arab Emirates is quite liberal for the Middle East, but there is still traditions there to be honored.

I think if any of us Americans, at least most of us went to say Turkey or Israel, or Thailand we would realize we’re in a different country, and we should act with respect to authority figures. That’s a common sense thing.

When some people visitors, immigrants, or even migrants come to America Maddie Ethan respect our society, and they want to be honorable ..but a few they do whatever they want like what we’re seeing in New York City with your guys to have some of the migrants are acting at hotels… and the response is very lax. Many would say that’s not right. The United States should step it up. If somebody new comes to America, they should respect authority figures… but for whatever reason some of the local, and even federal officials of the US government sometimes let people do whatever the heck they want in this country and that’s not right.

As a Christian, I hope that this American citizen who is detained in the united Arab Emirati’s, can come back to America as soon as possible and that she can learn her lesson that when she’s in a different country, you got to respect the customs.

Many years ago, when I served in the Navy, shortly before we would pull into a foreign port, our Executive Officer would get on the speaker system and tell the crew that when they disembark, they are to behave in a manner that would reflect favorably on the United States, as we are in essence ambassadors of our country. Most of the crew behaved favorably, but there were always a few who made us look bad.

excellent point
sadly it takes an arrest in a foreign country for people to realize we are the best, although we are not the best we could be, still the best country for Justice.

Look at the basketball player we got released from the Russian prison, before her arrest for drug possession, she took a knee during the national anthem, now she stands. I hope she learned her lesson.

Dubai is a wierd place. Its a welcoming home for gangsters but you cant shag on the beach. Even after dark.

Good to see some countries still sticking by their morals, standards and values. It's no different than if you go to someone else's home, you follow their rules in their home or you leave.

America doesn't do that. Foriengers come here and won't conform to our society and expect it to conform to them, in fact we facilitate them in not having to conform. That's why America is going down the proverbial shitter

America no longer has any accepted standards of public behavior.

It's their culture. Always has been.
