How bad can things get in President Bush last term is the question. To hear the Republican Party’s talking points about the war in Iraq and the nations economy is a flashback to Ken Lay pep talk to the people of Enron six weeks before they went bust. The Republican and Democrat Parties have lost focus to what is in the best interest of the nation. Too often out of greed and or incompetence our Federal elected leaders are serving those who pay their way. Many of the Washington lobbies and members of Congress actions are no better that treason and bank robbery. If the Washington lobbyists lobbied the private sector in the same manner as they do Congress it would be called bribery and extortion. The shell game Congress and the White House are playing with the American taxpayers money is the biggest threat to America’s nation security.

Between the insurance companies and military industries complex the American people are being taken to the cleaners. Before things can really get better there needs to be major changes in the leaders of the nation as well as political system. The United States Federal government must be down size by as much as 50% bringing it back to within the role of the Constitution. It is the corporate welfare that needs to be cut and the social welfare that needs to be improved making it more effective. The lost of common sense and the greed for more money and power by the leaders of the nation have taken the nation in the wrong direction.

Things will only changes for the better once the United States economy implodes. Only then the American people will stand-up and take notice to the hypocrisy and criminal acts of those people in power. Yes there are good leaders trying to do the right thing but they are silence by the establishment in which they are trap. Nobody wants to rock a boat that is seeding out of control in the wrong direction. Between the government deficit spending and the international oil crisis. America days of doing business as normal are limited.

Agreed---never seen such a bunch of selfish bastards letting everything stagnate while the try to maintain or increase thier personal power and wealth--BOTH parties. I still think with Hillarys' ego she may choose to distance herself from both parties and run officially as a "Progressive". Who could beat her if she took this stance that APPEARS to be middle of the road. And don't tell me money would be a problem.

A blind, deaf, brainless monkey could beat her regardless of what stance she took. She is an embarrassment to the human race and most people realize it.

Well if Hillary runs as a "Progressive"...Then I am very sure that the Republican Party would insist on Condi Rice as the 1st choice contender in this mud wrestling contest..I'm up for it...would be fun to watch...Then again Jane "Hanoi"Fonda and Lt.Kerry could also enter as the "Jungle rot party"to spice things up! :wine:

Freedom and democracy without prosperity will not bring security to the people of a nation. Why things are getting worst instead of better around the world is because we are not dealing with the real problems but the by-product of the problems. Too often military force is used by those nations in power for the wrong reasons. The national interests and security of a nation are often in conflict with other nation’s national security interests. Middle East oil in exchange for western made military weapons is a prime example of this.

Today the biggest problems facing the people and nations of the world are the energy and environmental crisis combined with the global population explosion. The gap in consumption of the world’s natural and financial resources between the fortunate and less fortunate people and nations is growing wider. As more people and nations prosper the demand for more oil and natural resources grows putting added pressure on the environmental infrastructure of the world. It is projected in the near future the world’s demand for crude oil will be greater than the world’s oil fields are able to produce. The United States is less than 5% of the world’s population is consuming 25% of the world oil. The population of India and China is 37% of the world’s population and are two of the fastest growing economies in the world. Both India and China have little to no oil reserves within their nations.

Without the balance of the financial and political policies of a nation between the wealthy corporations and the best interest of the public at large a government will become tyrannical. Today it is the tyrannical military foreign policies of the United States that is the catalyst to a lot of the terror around the world. Not until the United States government addresses its domestic energy problems and balances the Federal budget will things get better. Only by applying and enforcing the Rule of International Law evenly between allies and foes will we find peace and security in the world.

Unemployment is down, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon are free, Libya is giving up its nuke program, Syria's regime is close to toppling, No terrorists have attacked the USA since 9/11. WTF are you on?

    Just a reminder

National Intrests of America = Not to get blown up by psycho Arabs
National Interests of NK, Saddam's Iraq, Iran = blow up Americans

So you would rather people lived under Soviet rule, and let the USSR control all those resources?

Annnnd? What the hell should we do? Make cars illegal?

    Again...who the hell cares?

Then how come my A-Rab slaves have not arrived yet?! We are a tyrannical empire right? I want my slaves to work my factory and my cheap oil! Now suddenly I see all these people....VOTING. What the hell?! THAT SON OF A BITCH KARL ROVE MUST BE BEHIND THIS!

Yes, Mohammed Atta was striking a blow for fiscal responsibility

Yes! Freedom and Red Tape for all!

The solution to terror is so simple! Let's go to the UN! From God's lips to their ears! We must consult the Over Representative Chairman of the Council on Terrorism for what really consitutes terrorism. Experts from Oxford and Webster's Dictionaries must be called in for a summit on this issue. After 3 months of debating at least (we can't rush headlong into this) we can possibly agree on a tentative statement: "Killing innocent people is bad".

This statement must then go before the General Assembly! All must vote on it! But North Korea and Iran and Syria don't agree. So we must then go back to committee and revise the statement to: "Killing innocent people is bad unless under certain circumstances, ie you disagree with psycho killers. See addendum 49 under report 2233B RE: Killing political dissidents".

Now we have a resolution saying that 9/11, though America's fault, was still a bad thing! Huzzah for International Cooperation!

Uh oh! The messenger sent to deliver the addendum had his head lobbed off! BACK TO COMMITEE! Call in the Official Swiss Envoy on Anti-Head-Lobbing to head the 4 week summit to criticize the bluntness of the knife. It is OK for them to cut off heads after all, because that's what they do and its expected. But now we must have a one year hearing on Abu Ghraib and whether America deserves to defend itself, or should just commit mass suicide. Trust me, it makes sense.

So now Koffi says head-lobbig is bad! Take that, Islamofacism!

Very few people know the real history of the first hundred years of oil. The historians have romanticized the story of global oil and tomorrow we are going to pay the price. With the current rate of global consumption growing and current known oil reserves dwindling. It is not too far off in the horizon that global demand for oil will be greater than the supply. The United States government has misled the American people in so many ways. Oil’s global politics is at the root of so many of the problems we face today. The United States undermining and over throwing other foreign governments to control their natural resources, all in the name of national security. This is wrong and can no longer work in a world with educated people.

Much of the unrest in the world is between the oil consuming nations and the oil producing nations with the United States and Great Britain leading the way for the oil consuming nations. With so much of the modern day worlds progress and growth depended upon oil a false sense of security prevails. The establishment does not want to tackle problems that do not have simple answers, especially if they have to change their ways because they are part of the problem.

For the American car companies to be producing and selling small studios on wheels (SUV”S) is as wrong as most of the American people who buy them. The amount of living space that is climate controlled (air conditioning and or heat) per American person is growing out of control. As well as the amount of commercial retail space per American person is far too much. It is one thing to be able to afford to buy or build something but it is another story to be able to afford to maintain it. Yes the American economic society is based on consuming more and getting bigger while it is at the cost of others. It is clear that the United States government and American people cannot continue on the same course for much longer. The amount of government and private debt is chocking the international monetary system. The cost of heath insurance, pensions and taxes are driving the system broke. How fragile reality would be if the truth were ever heard.

This statistic will very quickly become inacurate. China will surpass America by the end of the decade. Why the hell do you think you're paying $2.50 a damn gallon for gas?

    hint: china

Tomorrow is another day, another dollar.

Actually, the reward of innovating new technology for discovery increases, and new reserves open up. Canadian oil shales contain more oil than all of America's reserve combined.

Economics 101, in a free market, Demand always equals Supply. What you mean to say is that the price per barrel, adjusted for inflation, will increase. Which is fine for America, as long as it continues to outpace the price of oil with it's annual increase in GNP per capita.

Bush lied, people died. Oh dear, your not another one of those people.

Educated people know that having a close security umbrella, both economically and militarily, with the United States, is rewarding in and of itself for both Americans and the so called 'occupied' new democracy. German, Japan, and Korea can all testify to that fact.

Somehow you think the USA is undeserving to ensure free markets and Democracy control the flow of not only oil, but real power in the world, rather than our capable adversaries. Our enemies and competitors consists of totalitarian states like China, Iran, North Korea, etc , who will hold the supply of oil ransom to the free Western economies, should we follow your isolationist position. There are no such nicities as protecting your freedom of speech on the Internet among the states which wish to put a stop to our economies with an global conflict, or oil embargo. SO WAKE UP.

Who should change their ways... the free West who pays cash for oil, or the totalitarian states which collect this cash into the private coffers of their own regime, at the expense of their own people?

You seem very confused about your vision of a future world utopia, and how to accomplish freedom for all. You suggest letting dictators continue to rule, like Saddam. Because of course you are fully against having liberated the people from his rule and establising a functioning Democracy, even while that is rapidly becomeing a fact. Don't even pretend you support the liberation of Iraq, or that you even see it as an act of Liberation.

Who are you to be saying that people cannot trade for goods freely available on the world market, according to their income? Are you some kind of jealous communist leech who can't afford your own Hummer?

Wow, what a commie, to say I can't pay for air conditioning, even though its my own G-damn hard earned money. Get lost, punk.

A yellow bellied commie who never earned a big office for himself. Boo-hoo.

Not only a commie, but one who wants to collapse all the credit companies and start from zero. So you saw Fight Club and now think you're an expert on U.S. debt?

    What complete and utter bullshit.

No, you only hope for that outcome. And then you could smirk and say you were right about how great Communism is for everyone was, now that America collapsed. How useless is that kind of dream? I mean jeezus, get another one, because your dream won't happen in your lifetime.

Since the cost of debt in this country has been and remains at historical lows, I assume you read something somewhere you can't link to which proves this assumption. I sure as hell ain't gonna look for it just to humour you.

Whoa. Are you sure you understand how the cost of health insurance and taxes jibe with your platform. I mean, hell, if you've stumbled onto a way of computing new fangled math, let us in on your secret. But if you're honestly saying you want to fund health care and pesions AND lower taxes, you must be out of your nut.
