If someone is "hidden" on here, will you still get an alert if they "like" or "reply" to your post?
I notice sometimes I don't get alerts - and other times I do.... (for the same people)....

But like, this morning, I had a post where someone laughed at it... when I went to look, someone also agreed, but, I did not get an alert on that.

I don't have them blocked, and, obviously, they don't have me blocked otherwise they would not have LIKED it!

Far as I know you're supposed to get alerts regardless of Ignore lists, but I also notice sometimes I get a "funny" or "agree" or something from a poster I've never had on Ignore, yet I got no alert for it.

I daresay da system is flawed.

Yeah they could still "agree" or anything else even if they have you in Ignore, just as they could reply. Ignore can be overridden ad hoc by the Ignorer at will.

I can still read someone if I have them on ignore. At the bottom of the thread it will give you the option to view the ignore content if you want.

As for likes and other stuff not alerting you it has happen to me many times of late. I figure it is a system glitch and nothing more.

Think it's only set up to show the first alert, and resets to show new alerts after you see the first.

on the list, click 'alert preferences'

you will see a list like this:

  Someone replies and attaches a file to a thread you are watching
  
  
• Quotes your message
  Someone directly quotes one of your messages in a thread

What's an alert? There's a way to get an alert if someone replies to your post?

Up at the top right of the page you'll see two red icons, one for "Inbox" and another for "Alerts". When you hover your mouse on either one it drops down a list of alerts, most recent at the top. It works the same way as eBay's "Messages" icon if you're familiar with that.

Once you've so hovered and (presumably) read the alerts it will no longer show a number until the next one comes in, but you can click on it to review what you've already seen. You can also click on "show all" (bottom left of that drop-down) and you'll get an entire page with all the alerts you can handle going back to the Harding Administration. There's also a link there for "alert preferences" although I've never been in there...

When you sign on, click the tab on the far left that reads "forums" Come down and down and down into Global Topics and you will find Israel and Palestine.

Then unclick the buttons in alert preferences.
