Al Sharpton’s Rally Attracts....???

From the top of anything. Surely there was a rooftop or some vantage point to get a shot of the whole crowd. Anyhow the Washington Times and NBC are now reporting Sharpton's crowd at 'several hundred'.

Is you point that many didn't attend the Sharpton Rally because they wouldn't get their picture taken?

I don't know why many didn't attend the Sharpton rally. Maybe Americans are getting tired of the politics of personal destruction and are looking for something real? Maybe they're getting pretty bored with Al who after all is pretty much a broken record. Beck actually got long winded and tedious in his speech, but he had great music lined up and perhaps people were looking for a greater purpose there. I don't know.

In all honesty, I didn't know WHAT to expect at the Restore Honor rally because they told us almost nothing about what to expect. Still hundreds of thousands of people went.

I suppose they DID know what to expect from Al and just weren't up to it that day.

This is actually a pretty interesting theory.....

Reminds me of the episode of "Family Guy" where Peter invented a new religion around the "Happy Days" character, "Fonzie." At first, his family was incredulous at the stupidity of the absurd notion.

Then they were astonished that so many showed up at The Church of The Fonz.

Then, a variety of B-rate actors arrived, and began their own silly churches, stealing away Fonzie worshipers.

No, I don't think this was the same thing at all. Glenn does have the ability to make people think and the ability to win their trust. As Glenn is Mormon, I imagine the large majority of them don't share his religious beliefs, but he is a brilliant teacher and is able to put things into clear perspective.

I don't think all those people went to the Lincoln Memorial Saturday to hear Glenn Beck. I think they were there as a statement that they're sick and tired of being sick and tired of the way this country is going. They're tired of being angry, and worried, and afraid, and frustrated and they want to be part of the process to turn it around and get it back on track. At least that's my gut feeling about it. It had to be a really big deal to inspire that many people shell out the time and money to be in Washington DC on a late summer weekend when they didn't have a clue what they would hear or what would happen there.

Ah I didn't get the edit done quickly enough. :)

More than 200K. Somewhere in the back of my head I have a figure of 250,000, but would have to look it up to be certain about that.

You get the gold star on your forehead.

BBC ON THIS DAY | 28 | 1963: 'I have a dream'

On 28 August 1963, he stood up at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC and told 250,000 euphoric supporters of his dream for racial equality.

If only there was some revelance to whatever the hell point this might make?

No, I didn't say it was the "SAME thing."

I said it reminded me of a Family Guy Episode.

And the parallel still impresses me.

So? Your point?
Please show me where this was a competition?

I never used the word "competition." You did.

I will reiterate:

Well, doesn't it seem strange to you that in a city inhabited predominately by Blacks, on a day, 8/28, that commorated MLK's speech, that only 3,000 would respond to Sharpton's invitation to demonstrate?

This whole thread is about showing how Beck got more people. I am not stupid. And last time I checked Sharpton didn't have the money Beck did, nor the media power. Go pedal your bullshit somewhere else.
Making this out to be a competition, proves what kind of people you are.

:eusa_whistle:

By the way Loose Ass. If it's not a competition, why do you keep mentioning who had more money?

Well, the left never use that stupid 'Glen Beck Rape Charge' thing, do they? Except that they actually do.... often.

Well?

It was after all, August 28th, one of the most important days in Black History, in Washington DC, a city with more than a handful of black inhabitants.

Where's the media coverage??

How many attended?

Certainly this rally is at least as newsworthy as any other......

....or isn't it?

if I may Bro...heres a one guy who was there and damn glad of it.

"angry white people" etc...saw this on the news I bet huh? ;)

the first 50 seconds has the money shots..

The Al Sharpton turn out is representative of a voter base gone sour. The American people will be heard in November and it will be resounding unlike the November of 2008. November of 2008 was one of absent apathetic voters it will not happen again. The alarm bell is sounding and people are hearing and heeding the call. America is awake.

What is happening in America is typical of people who have had enough. We are tired of the politicians and their endless waste of our hard earned tax dollars. They think we are an endless supply of money to fund their pork barrel projects and their you scratch my back and I will scratch your back politics.

What is sad is that the left attacked Glen Beck for having a rally. You would think that anyone celebrating the spirit of MLK, our soldiers and our country could expect to be joined not attacked. That's what's sad.

Glenn Beck celebrated the spirit of MLK? Is that what you believe? Seriously?

Then why didn't he ask Al Sharpton to join him?

Instead, he asked the niece of MLK who publicly states that gay marriage is equal to "genocide".

You guys are a mess.

Do you think MLK believed in abortion?

Only a handful marched from Sharpton's rally past Glenn Beck's.

I suspect many were afraid. Large groups of white people who call the first black president a "Marxist/Fascist/Nazi/Communist/Socialist/boy/who wants to kill your grandmother" could do that.

Moron.

From the Washington Post account, the demonstrators passed each other with only a few polite glances.

I was part of the Beck's crowd that passed by Sharpton's crowd and there was no tension at all.
