I am the one that mentioned abstinence education. And the fact that it doesn't work.

The fact that there were numerous homes for unwed mothers prior to the 1960s shows it never worked.

When my 3 kids were in their early teens, I put a bowl of condoms in the cupboard for them. I told them that my rule was 'No Sex' until you are an adult. But if they were going to break my rule, I didn't want them to die or ruin their lives for it.

Making contraceptives available is not the same as encouraging them to have sex.
