A Really Smart President Revokes The Emergency Declaration!

President Trump is making a giant mistake declaring a national emergency so he can reallocate money to build the souther border barrier that was allocated for other purposes by Congress. By doing what he is doing he is creating a constitutional crisis threatening the balance of power that the founders of our country decided on two hundred years ago and frankly he is taking defeat out of the jaws of victory if he doesn't do this he still will have a great case for his base in his reelection bid!

President Trump doesn't have to declare a national emergency for his reputation with the appropriation bills he signed this past friday he is getting fifty-five more miles of barriers and in the last three months contractors have started on a fifty mile stretch previously budgeted for. Considering these numbers he only has one hundred and seventy-five (175) miles more of fencing to go to reach his goal. He could readily reach this if he negotiated a deal on people in DACA (Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals) status if such a deal couldn't be cut he almost certainly could cut a fifty mile financing deal with the budget that begins in October of this year. This would leave him in great shape for campaigning in the 2020 election because not only will he have built 200 plus miles of border barriers but with this february 15th deal he got 600 more custom officers and technology to significantly improve interdiction of drugs on border crossing points.

Another reason why he should revoke his executive order declaring a national emergency here is that if he loses this fight and odds are he will in the courts (not only are statistics against him but his own admissions "I didn't have to do this" it's a repeat of the court fight on visa restriction against certain countries where his admissions bit him) he is not going to get any significant amount of money for border fencing that means he loses the 2020 budget year appropriation cycle and the 2021 BY appropriation cycle valuable opportunities wasted. There is a good chance Republicans will override a Presidential veto on those years appropriation bill which Trump will probably veto for no wall funding because with this emergency declaration the Executive Branch is emasculating Congress, it is saying we can ignore you and that Congress is not a coequal branch of government; for members of Congress that have any real commitment to putting country over party they will vote to override his veto because it is imperative they create an optimal deterrent against this power grab by the President that weakens America's democracy to a truly scary degree!
