Patrick Cannon, the Mayor of Charlotte, NC was arrested today and accused of accepting nearly $48,000 in bribes during a four-year-long FBI sting. A good portion of those bribes came in the form of a quote-unquote investment into one of Cannon’s business ventures: a “feminine hygiene product” called “Hers”.

The precise type of feminine hygiene product is currently unknown, but analysts theorize it could be a douchebag.

Yet, while talking about the tens of thousands of dollars in bribes he sought, none of these networks identified Patrick Cannon’s political party. Only a Fox News host referred to him as a Democrat.

On ABC’s Good Morning America, Amy Robach asserted, “Well, the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina has resigned after being arrested during an FBI sting.” On CNN’s New Day, Christine Romans informed that undercover FBI agents “got the mayor to take almost $50,000 in bribes in exchange for favorable treatment by the city.” In contrast, Fox News’s Jamie Colby revealed, “There’s another Democrat in trouble over accusations of corruption.”

In early 2014, Senator Rod Wright was convicted on multiple charges. Wright represented Inglewood, an offshoot of Los Angeles.

One month ago, Senator Ron Calderon was arrested on several bribery and corruption charges. Calderon is also a Los Angeles politician.

Now in the latest rivalry between the two cities, San Francisco has decided to challenge Los Angeles. Senator Leland Yee represents the wealthy enclaves of San Francisco and San Mateo.

When queried about the crickets on the story about the arrest of the Democratic state senator and 12 others in a massive FBI sting operation, CNN maintained that they didn’t cover state senator stories. Like “just about never”.

Never apparently comes often, except in cases of alleged gun running by a Democrat.

CNN covered the State senate candidacy of Sandra Fluke. Guess if you pimp for birth control and have no other discernible resume, you’re worthy of a story.
