A nation under attack

Not when your government says you go to jail if you don't take up the 'right' of healthcare. See how that one works?

 It doesn't work that way, what Radioman said is more accurate, it's our right to choose that is being taken away, slowly. You cannot force someone's rights.

While it was poor wording, the message is still good though, our rights are being toyed with. ;)

Really? Seems to me that my rights are violated when I pay my health insurance and it goes to treat someone who shows up at an emergency room with neither insurance or money. Insured or not, everyone gets treated.

Yes, we have already established that you have no regard for the Constitution.

So then work to make it affordable ... now you're still paying for that, just prior to them going instead of after.

You are confusing the words 'Right' and responsibibility. You are exercising responsibility of your doing by having a plan in the first place.

I think your anger at the present system is clouding your judgment here.

Early this morning I placed my flag into its holder. For the first time, it is mounted upside down and will continue to be flown that way until our Congress and President stop their head long run into socialism. My rights are being forced upon me by the government. My liberty is being attacked under penalty of prison for not excericing a right.

So your contention is that you will not seek health care when you need it, correct? That is the liberty being stripped from you?

Your health goes directly to your quality of life and it is from quality life where we define rights. That you are asked to pay your part of what you will use is not unreasonable nor, might I add, is throwing your sorry ass in jail if you refuse to do so.

Reference the specific part of the US Constitution that grants congress this power. Do not use 'general welfare' or 'interstate commerce' as they have already been blown out of the water as relevant.

We'll wait.

Yes. And the passage in the Bill that portends to send people to JAIL and fine them if they do NOT comply. Now where is that in the Constitution?

The power to lay taxes and punish for not paying them? You really need help with that?

So? You've been caught in a double entendre, and freely admit what this Bill really means?

Good Form. Thank you.

Have a nice day.

So where is compliance with Rule of Law in the constitution? There is no point to a constitution is there is no compliance with the rule of law derived from it. Are you contending the founders meant the constitution to be pointless?

But what is hotly contested here is the VERY premise of the BILL.

The Statists in power told us that there would be NO tax increase and we could KEEP our plans, when they know it is an outright LIE.

The premise of the Bill is what is in dispute here.

I can tell you this much? The Statist Democrats have sealed their fate come 2010. Many will be looking for other work whether this gets signed into LAW or not.

They have a huge hurdle now in the Senate, and I hope it dies there.

No doubt. We know we won't be able to keep our current plans? How do we know that?

I wonder where it says in the Constitution that the government has the right to fine us $250,000 and give us 5 motherfucken years in prison just because we refuse to pay a fine for not purchasing health care insurance?

This is still waiting an answer.

The Supreme Court can give you an answer if the bill passes and someone challenges that provision.

It just may come to that. I know of at least one person that has vowed to do just this should it become LAW.
