AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Families of political detainees in PA jails on Thursday organised a peaceful demonstration and formed a human chain in al-Khalil to protest continued political detentions, summonses to PA security offices and politically motivated sackings.
The protest went ahead under the motto from al-Khalil to Birzeit protesting for freedom. The protestors raised posters carrying pictures of political captives and slogans that condemn this sort of detention and condemn sackings based on the political sympathies of the employees.
Speakers at the demonstration condemned the excesses of PA security agencies which go against national reconciliation agreement and called on freedoms committees to work towards achieving those freedoms, free political prisoners and put an end to political detention.
