WASHINGTON — The online whistle-blower WikiLeaks has posted some 90,000 leaked U.S. military records that amount to an blow-by-blow account of six years of the Afghanistan war, including unreported incidents of Afghan civilian killings as well as covert operations against Taliban figures.

The White House condemned the document disclosure, saying it "put the lives of Americans and our partners at risk."

"The documents posted by Wikileaks reportedly cover a period of time from January 2004 to December 2009," he added. "On December 1, 2009, President Obama announced a new strategy with a substantial increase in resources for Afghanistan, and increased focus on al Qaeda and Taliban safe-havens in Pakistan, precisely because of the grave situation that had developed over several years."[/SIZE]

The classified memos also reveal the secret efforts of coalition forces to hunt down and “kill or capture” senior Taliban and al-Qaeda figures. (sounds like what we should have done nearly a decade ago)

I wonder what it would be like if we went after the man who brought down the World Trade Center and headed a world wide terrorist organization, instead of some moron dictator from a tiny country under sanctions in the Middle East but full of oil not ours. A country full of so many stupid fucks that when given the chance for "democracy", they model their own country after Iran. Was it worth it?

    From their website:

A complete and total breach of security.
Is this what "freedom of press" has turned into?

I refuse to link to the website or the links to the documents, themselves.

I agree. It is disgusting. They could have had a "real" democracy.

Instead, they make "Islam" the "national religion" by constitution (Article 2 of the Iraqi Constitution). They base ALL their legislation on Islam. They put their women in Burkas, kill their gays (although the American right wing might not find that such a bad thing) and they kill or chase away at least half their Christian population out of a home land that was theirs even BEFORE Muslims moved in.

So it IS disgusting. A disaster. A tragedy. A lie. A mistake.

And knowing what it says in the Iraqi Constitution, being able to find a million copies of it on line and still trying to insist Iraq is a "democracy" is not just delusion. In fact - it's "disgusting".

I found the part that shows Pakistan supporting the Taliban & Al Qaeda killing our kids in Afghanistan especially disgusting. All those Billions in American Tax Payer Dollars given to Pakistan while they were supporting the Taliban & Al Qaeda all along? All Americans should be outraged over this. In my opinion the Wars are over. Our own President has proclaimed that "Winning is no longer the goal" over there. So what the H*LL are our kids dying for? Time to bring em home. End of story.

this has been known a long time. how do you think the isi suddenly knew where all the big al qaeda and taliban members were when obama told them to either give over the locations or we would bring the drones into real pakistan (and not just the tribal areas)?
