In what is one of the saddest stories well ever publish, a nine year old boy was found dead by his parents earlier this year, after an apparent suicide. It is believed the little boy decided to commit suicide after prolonged bullying for being white by an Asian gang at his school.
The childs name is Aaron Dugmore, and he was found in his bedroom by his parents who say that their son had been bullied by the Asian children for months.
Aarons mother, Kelly-Marie Dugmore, 30, and his stepfather, Paul Jones, 43, said that despite several complaints to the school, nothing was done to stop the bullying. They claim that he was tormented by one Asian child with a plastic knife who told him that next time it would be a real one. Another Asian child had told him once that all white people should die. Aaron would spend his entire recess periods hiding from the bullies on the schools playground.
Aaron was a fifth grade student at Erdington Hall Primary School in Birmingham, England, a school where 75 per cent of the students are non-white minorities, which actually made Aaron a minority at the school. The school had recently gotten a failing score by school inspectors.
After Aarons parents found him, they rushed him to the hospital, but nothing could be done to revive him and he died.
Aaron got on with all the children at his last school, and for him to have been bullied because of the color of his skin makes me feel sick to my stomach, his mother told The Daily Mail after her son died. The event happened in February, and though many months have passed since then, the story remains a grim reminder of the damages of bullying and racism.
