69 years ago today, on May 7, 1945, Nazi Germany surrendered to end the European part of World War 2.

The surrender document was signed in Rhiems, France on May 7. The next day, another set was signed in Berlin, Germany.

Every American weapons system of the cold war was developed because the Russians may have it in the future, of course they did have it in the future after they stole it (or bought it from turncoats) prompting yet more development of weaponry.
