54% say a pathway to citizenship trumps border security

The first step in evaluating the validity of any poll is to examine, closely, how the questions are presented. Consider...

"...developing a plan that would allow undocumented immigrants with jobs to eventually become legal U.S. resident." [NOTE: not citizens - "resident"]

This has NOTHING TO DO with general amnesty or a general entitlement for the 11 million illegals to ultimately gain citizenship in the U.S. fucking A.

Indeed, to summarize the results of this poll as, "54% say a pathway to citizenship trumps border security," is what is commonly referred to as a LIE.

What the poll actually says is, If there are illegals who are working, paying taxes, who have established themselves as middle-class "Americans" who are not here just to suck up government benefits like free education, welfare, food stamps, MEDICAID, then let THOSE UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS, begin a path that eventually leads to permanent residency ("Green Card").

Here are a few of MY poll questions:

(1) Does the United States of America, acting through Congress, have the right to determine who gets to immigrate into the United States?

(b) Once Congress has passed a law regarding immigration, should that law be enforced?

(iii) Should the United States have border security that ensures that only those who are legally-permitted to come here are allowed in?

D. If someone violates the laws of the United States and gains entry, or if s/he gains entry legally but refuses to leave when required by law to leave, should the United States have the right to insist that they leave?

5. Should the United States have immigration policies that ensure that immigrant-applicants with the greatest potential value (education, experience, assets) are given first priority in approval of their immigration applications?

I guaran-fucking-tee you that every one of these questions would be answered in the affirmative by a vast majority of American citizens. And it serves no useful purpose for news organizations to be sponsorting bullshit polls that dance around the issues in a way that spits out a demonstrably false result, as "proof" of the wisdom of their bullshit agendae.
