Now this is downright hysterical. 31 right wingers in congress voted no on the recent hurricane Sandy bill, because they didn't get the pork they wanted.

The "less spending!" GOP/teabaggers had their hands reached out and mouths open wide asking for more pork barreled spending for themselves, but when it was refused, they threw a tantrum and voted nay on the hurricane bill.

What a bunch of idiots the GOP are.

"The “hypocritical” list includes:

1. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH): Requested disaster aid after Hurricane Sandy.
2. John Barrasso (R-WY), Republican Policy Committee Chair: Requested disaster aid after flooding.
3. During his time in the Senate, he has fought tirelessly to ensure that Missouri gets its fair share of those federal resources specifically dedicated to disaster recovery.”

31 Senate Republicans Opposed Sandy Relief After Supporting Disaster Aid For Home States | ThinkProgress

There was a bunch of PORK in the bill, and the republicans wanted it cleaned up. But ya....keep blaming the republicans! I'm sure it's just A-Ok with you to let them squander our tax money on other shit we don't need. Why couldn't they just come up with a clean bill to help the victims? Because they're DEMOCRATS!

Two thirds of this spending is not remotely “emergency”; the Congressional Budget Office estimates that only 30% of the authorized funds would be spent in the next 20 months, and over a billion dollars will be spent as late as 2021.

This bill is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington – an addiction to spending money we do not have. The United States Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters to fund pork projects that further expand our debt.

Do you have a link to who exactly loaded the bill with pork? I can't find a list anywhere.

sandy relief bill is written. it has pork, which all bills do and without which nothing would get passed, and so republicans stall the bill until the pork is removed. they remove the pork, and 31 republicans vote against it.

gee, i wonder why people think of the gop as the party of fuckfaces...

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas released this statement.
Hurricane Sandy inflicted devastating damage on the East Coast, and Congress appropriately responded with hurricane relief. Unfortunately, cynical politicians in Washington could not resist loading up this relief bill with billions in new spending utterly unrelated to Sandy.

Emergency relief for the families who are suffering from this natural disaster should not be used as a Christmas tree for billions in unrelated spending, including projects such as Smithsonian repairs, upgrades to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration airplanes, and more funding for Head Start.

Two thirds of this spending is not remotely “emergency”; the Congressional Budget Office estimates that only 30% of the authorized funds would be spent in the next 20 months, and over a billion dollars will be spent as late as 2021.

It's right there in the link, you inbred stalker piece of shit. I know you are obsessed with me, but at least keep it off the board. You don't want to expose yourself to the whole forum , like you love to do to strangers on sunday afternoons in the park when you put on your makeup and high heels to become "Edna".

Why are you calling disaster relief for Republican states "pork" when it's to help with a disaster? There are fires, floods, killing snowstorms, etc. in places other than hurricane-hit zones. The only difference is the mainstream media is only interested in publicizing disasters in Democrat areas, and not in small areas that are hit equally as hard if not harder.
