I'm just glad the Celtics opened the playoffs with a thorough and convincing thrashing of the Knicks and that it didn't come down to a late Ray Allen 3-pointer or anything like that. Because if that happened I'd be worried.

If it makes you feel better that was Amare's best game of the series and Billups is prolly missing at least Tuesday's game.

I'm not worried about the Knicks.

But I'm seriously worried about 18.

Oh, as you should be.

But I will say if that (or something close to it) is the kind of effort we are going to get from Jermaine I like our chances today more than I did yesterday.

I only want two things from this years NBA Playoffs:

1. Smallest Market teams in the Finals. (NBA loves L.A. and N.Y.)
2. All the ESPN prognosticators picks to be wrong. (Their picks are no better than anyone else's)

Game 1 coasting by the Lakers against New Orleans was typical of them. And even there they got lucky when the Hornets backup center went down with an injury late in the game.

Watch them win by 20 on Wed -then sweep the rest of the series.

This year is odd for the NBA in the playoffs. No one seems to be a strong favorite (or even minor favorite).

I hate to say it, and would hate even worse to see it, but I think the Heat may take it all.
