As the Associated Press reports today, the Obama administration told Congress yesterday that it would “wave democracy requirements to release up to $1.3 billion in aid to Egypt despite concerns that the country is backsliding on commitments it made to democratic governance and the rule of law.” And that’s not all. Thanks to Egypt not going to open war with Israel (even while funneling weapons to the Gaza Strip), they will be the beneficiaries of $200 million in additional taxpayer-funded foreign aid.

What's your thoughts on this? Agree or disagree with this use of Taxpayer Money?

'Wave Democracy requirements?' That doesn't sound good. Or is it just me?

A great Dem deal for 35 years. It's time to pay ISRAEL more to make peace with the Palestinians...AND the Palestinians. Heluva lot cheaper than what we HAVE been doing. #1 cause of Arab hate.

Yes, 'waving Democracy requirements' and pissing away $1.5 Billion in Tax Dollars is 'a great Dem deal.' But it's a heinous raw deal for America.

Egypt has gotten billions of US dollars every year in "aid" since Egypt kicked Israel out Sinai in 73. And, nearly all that time, Egypt was under the same dictator. Now, that the dictator is gone, many American leaders want to cut off that aid, ironically by invoking the democracy clause.

Why do we give aid to Egypt? So that they they'll cooperate with Israel, such as enforcing the Egyptian side of the Gaza concentration camp. A free and democratic Egypt wouldn't be an ally with Israel.

Don't care anymore. It's time to bring the wasted $Billions back home.

It's a great deal, for 35 years. It's time to build a port for Gaza and a tunnel to the West Vank, and a Holy Land Theme park staffed by Norwegians...

Cool. Just don't spend any American Tax Dollars on it. Have at it. :)

It's goes beyond the pale of stupidity for us to be handing out money to other countries when we can't even pay our own bills.

They just need to raise the price of gas at the pump. :eusa_shifty:

Obama Administration Hands $1.5 Billion To Egyptian Islamists
Is this news to you? The US has given aid to Egypt for many years, about the same amount we give to Israel.

You have swallowed a lot of BS about the Brotherhood. As secular and Democratic as you can hope for over there...kinda like the Dems here.

Well then you give em your own money. Don't force all American Taxpayers to.
