0th anniversary of VJ Day: Thank the atomic bomb for saving millions of lives

LOL it was either that or Japan surrenders since Japan had no intention to surrender and the Allies had no intention of allowing the war to continue it was going to happen all your claims are foolish and ignore reality.
LOL idiot poop boy disagrees that the scheduled November invasion was going to happen. He claims to be a history teacher and doesn't even know basic historical facts.

Japan was prostrate and there were other options than incinerating non-combatant populations.

Prostrate.

Well, other than occupying most of China with an army of almost a million men? And another 5 million on Japan and the islands they still occupied?

You know, like French Indochina? Formosa? Dutch East Indies? New Guinea? Malaysia? Siam? Burma?

All of which in their "idea of peace", they would have continued to occupy. Along with Manchuria and Korea.

But yes, they were "Prostrate".

Hell, I just got a laugh because he disliked that I posted actual discussions between Foreign Minister Togo and Ambassador Sato.

In other words, he did not like that I used actual communications inside the Japanese government to prove they had absolutely no intention of surrendering. Meanwhile, he still vomits up ancient comments from people that were not in the Japanese government at all. Like anything they said means anything, considering they were not even Japanese, and did not know what they themselves were saying or thinking.

He just hits dislike a lot because they prove he is wrong. Poopy is as poopy does.

And a blockade would have doomed millions of Japanese civilians to slow starvation as the junta would have allocated whatever food supplies were available to the military.
Quite likely, but that would have been entirely by their own doing. It would also have absolutely extirpated that very military cult that refused to surrender and which persists to this day, there and elsewhere.

The point is that a blockade would have resulted in MORE death and suffering than the two nukes.

According to the title of the original post, shouldn't Russia conduct an atomic bombing of a couple of ukrainian cities? Well, to save hundreds of thousands of lives, following the US example? Or "this is completely different" (c)?
