The more I look into group pathology the more it fits.

And yeah, they have perfectly reasonable concerns on that and other issues. The problem is that they're so stuck in binary thought patterns that it just has to be all or nothing for them. To do what you say means that we have to become America First to even have that chance. There is no way to do that if we purchase products from near slave employees overseas. We must pay the true price for a product. We must stop raising taxes and know there are limits on Pollyanna for all. Prudent cuts for freezing of government programs or inefficient use of resources must be used. Waste must stop or sharply reduced, and it is a lot. If Progs were true to their beliefs, then the American auto industry would be the richest in the world with Americans purchasing 90% or more of those vehicles.
