Red wines from Ca. or Wa.
Same with the white wines, except for a Chardonnay from Australia called "Yellow Tail", an excellent inexpensive wine.

I had a love affair with American wines, particularly the California oaky Chardonnay. Until the sommelier at Harris Teeter told me about the additives they contained. I’m back on European now.

German wines have improved immensely.

Those sommeliers are ALWAYS tryin to make trouble!

Top Chile , Argentina and Italian red wines will match anything and even expensive Oz wines can be classy ( not most of their supermarket brands which are formulaic) .

How much for some of my Biondi Santi , 1982 Brunello di Montalcino reserve ( Centenary Anniversary ) . Start at £3000 a bottle in tube .Last few cases only .
