i am Catholic …..

from a Catholic family in Germany in a mostly Catholic region in Germany.

Interesting coincidence. I had dinner the other day with two couples - three of whom I was meeting for the first time. All six of us identified as Catholic, but three hadn't attended Mass in at least 20 years - let alone "confession."

So many people consider themselves "Catholic," even though they do not practice their faith. It's a lot like an ethnicity, I guess. I know a lot of people who consider themselves Irish, even though their nearest Irish ancestor is at least three generations past.

I am a practicing, alms-giving Catholic. Wouldn't have it any other way.

In my experience almost no one goes to Mass in Germany. You and your family? (if you don't mind my asking)

to that i say first ….

the times they are a.changing.

when i was a child, everybody attended Mass.

not any more now …..

Raised Catholic and went as far as my confirmation (at Moms insistence).

Haven’t been back since.

now every option has exactly two votes ….

what a co.incident!

and here is my question for you:

have you ever taken part in a Corpus Christi. Day procession?

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We don't believe that the Catholics nor the Protestants have the priesthood authority that was lost in an apostasy of the church of Jesus Christ before either of these churches were formed. We believe that Jesus restored His church through the prophet Joseph Smith and restored the priesthood and all the authority to run his church here on the earth.
