Right now, Israel's most effective leader is an 81-year-old Irish Catholic from Delaware.
At a time when the elected government in Jerusalem seems committed to demonstrating its incompetence in new ways almost every day, only Joe Biden has remained committed to the security and the future of the State of Israel.

Months ago, President Biden, Vice President Harris and the rest of the U.S. team urged a focus on "the day after" the war. They recognized that without a clear idea about how to rebuild Gaza, to put in place effective Palestinian leadership and develop a roadmap toward a two-state solution, there would never be an enduring end to this conflict.

Instead, we're left with Netanyahu, in an embarrassing interview with D-level U.S. media personality Dr. Phil, suggesting that Arab states – with whom he had not consulted – could come in and clean up his mess, an idea that was instantly rejected by one of those for being as unfounded as it was absurd.

Face it

Netanyahu screwed the pooch and is compensating by destroying the Palestinian civilian population

Hamas is a known threat.
Yet Netanyahu was unaware of a major buildup by terrorists and failed to have sufficient troops guarding the border

And Israeli soldiers that had to clean up the mess commited suicide in the field. His own generals are now briefing without him, because he failed to have a plan to secure areas in northern Gaza, to prevent Hamas from returning, and now are refighting over the same ground.

Which was the "Day After" plan the Biden administration was trying to get him follow.

I'm of the opinion he knew it was going to happen and let it. It has quite handily put his political issues on a back burner and solidified his position.

Hamas played him

Their attack had no chance of success. But Israel reacted like expected and they overplayed their response

Israels attempts to form alliances with the rest of the Arab world are out the window.

Just like Hamas wanted

You cannot lock 2.000.000 people in a pen for 75 years and expect them to give you flowers when they manage to break free.

But sure... let's reinforce the security of the very same human corral that made Palestinians go on a looting, kidnapping and killing spree in the first place.

Netanyahu is being willingly manipulated by Hamas.

Neither care about his Palestinian victims.

Slaughtering them accrues to the shame and detriment of Israel.

Hamas and Netanyahu must be stripped of power for the sake of Palestinians and Israelis.

True.

And one of the most important ways President Biden has demonstrated his commitment to the security and the future of the State of Israel is to admonish Netanyahu to not pursue his reckless, irresponsible campaign in Gaza that succeeds in only killing innocent Palestinian civilians

It is the responsibility of the Israeli people to secure their nation's future by disposing of Netanyahu, and ending the oppression of Palestinians that Netanyahu had perpetuated by his promoting Hamas.

Polling shows majority blame the PM not just for military failures but for ‘propping up’ the terrorist group in the first place
Recent polling shows a significant majority of Israelis blame Mr Netanyahu not just for the military and intelligence failures that allowed the attack but for “propping up” the terrorist group in the first place.
“For years, the various governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu took an approach that divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank – bringing Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas to his knees while making moves that propped up the Hamas terror group”, wrote political correspondent Tal Schneider in the Times of Israel last week. “The idea was to prevent Abbas – or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority’s West Bank government – from advancing toward the establishment of a Palestinian state”.
Dmitry Shumsky, a columnist for Haaretz, took a similar line, arguing that Mr Netanyahu had pursued a policy of “diplomatic paralysis” in order to avoid negotiations with the Palestinians over a two-state solution – a solution despised by the country’s extreme Right. This flawed strategy turned Hamas from “a minor terrorist group into an efficient, lethal army with bloodthirsty killers who mercilessly slaughtered innocent Israeli civilians”, said Mr Shumsky...
Others point to more mundane reasons for the Oct 7 intelligence failure, notably the ongoing corruption scandal that has plagued Mr Netanyahu and distracted him and the religiously motivated demands of his far-Right coalition partners, which have seen military resources diverted to settlements on the West Bank.

There are not many in Israel today who think the prime minister will come out of that well. Even Ehud Barak, the former prime minister and IDF commander, who served with Mr Netanyahu in a commando unit in the late 1960s, has described the Oct 7 attack as “the greatest failure in Israeli history”.
Israel’s strategy towards the Palestinians had backfired, Mr Barak told the Economist, “because the deaths were mainly of civilians and the state has forsaken its most basic commitment to its citizens – to keep them alive – this was the worst type of negligence”.

The irony, of course, is that Netanyahu's cynical support for Hamas to frustrate a free Palestine is what will lead to it.
