In the past decade or so I have been noticing a trend of too many "ideas" people trying to run things without the proper backup by the "execution" people. I've seen this at music events that can't start on time as an example.

Mamdani’s camp billed the event as a public block party along the historic Canyon of Heroes that would have designated viewing areas for “tens of thousands to gather and participate in the ceremony, ensuring the day belongs to all New Yorkers.”

But his team also warned on their website there would not be portable restrooms “due to safety concerns” and “no food for sale within the block party.”

While Mamdani officials advised attendees there were nearby markets and eateries for grub, attendees needed to leave the barricaded pens and go through security again to re-enter.

While warned, I doubt the warnings were as broadcast as the invitations, and I bet the VIP's were taken care of when it came to bathroom access.

I think this will be a bellweather of what we can expect from Mamdani, lots of ideas, but very few way of actually implementing them.

So far on January 2nd I have not seen any changes. Of course, I'm off from work and dog sitting for the first two days of the year.

Next they will be wanting to raise everyone's taxes so this doesn't happen again.
