I have a lot of sympathy for this particular sentiment. It pisses me off to watch elected politicians leverage their elected office in behalf of their wallet. However it's really not possible to stop it even if you can regulate it to some extent and even that I think is probably not actually possible.

There are some elected officials who are simply successful businessmen and women regardless of their political career. There are some ( Maxine Waters comes to mind) who atte totally dependent on there political reputation and position for their financial success.

In final analysis they do not act alone... For as long as there are people willing to buy influence and seek favor they will be the abuse of political position for money and gain.

The American people are tired of politicians using their influence for personal gain, and the rise of prediction markets has made those concerns even more relevant,” Budzinski said in a statement. “In recent months, we’ve seen instances of little-known traders making massive profits on events ranging from war with Iran to how long a government shutdown will last, raising necessary questions about the use of inside information.”

Dunno, bub. They do a pretty good job regulating inside trading for the average Jane, Joe or zir. But politicians have made themselves exempt from the same law that everyone is under.
