Exploding today. 93% of stocks are owned by 10% of holders. Rich get richer. I have Stock options that are worth a ton now. I am not complaining. But good God!

Debt, what debt? Let’s go! Anyone else making a killing today?

It has been a good year.

My 401k is up more than 15% on the year, my wife's TSP is up more than 18% on the year, and we still have 3 months to go.

As close to retirement as you are, that sound like you still have too much in higher risk investments.

5 years. Could go the first few and not touch them if needed.

Ok, thought you were closer. I hit 50 next year so a 3-5% slice will be moved to a bonds fund at that time for me.

I hit 60 this year. The wife is 3 years behind me and we need her to hit 62 before we can retire so she gets her pension from the VA.

This has been a really good week for me, I say this because it has not been an exactly great year, but I have managed to stay in the green, but just barely. Yesterday I was up 5.1%, and I bet today I am up over 6%, which would be the highest all year. I only have yesterday's average today.

That seems pretty great to me

I do not. Seems even heavy with bonds you should have done better than that with the high interest rates.
I'm in capital preservation mode, and I found out that a 5% return for me is all I need to keep my 401K from losing much value annually. It's easy now with zero debt but it won't stay this way forever, if it did, I wouldn't change anything.

I'm not too worried about 15%, don't think my mix will ever get there, but am glad you are smashing it, now is the time to start maybe moving some into cash, I did right after the boom from Covid.

5 years till we retire and could probably go a few years without touching it if we needed to after that.

I will not change the mix probably till very close to actual retirement

Just watch the market carefully and if it looks like a downturn for whatever reason, you can always move it to a money market (cash) to ride out the storm.
