I've been watching some videos on modern Russia for the past year. I'm just so curious as to the rest of the world, especially Russia, since it is one of the top 3 largest countries on earth at the moment.

During the videos I've seen about Russia over the past year, in watching one recently, a black lady entered the frame of the camera. Then it dawned on me........she's the first black I've seen on any video I've watched about Russia. Which got me wondering.......how many blacks ARE there in Russia??

In looking up ethnic groups in Russia, this is what I've found............

Asians are the #1 dominate ethnic group on earth.
Africans are #2 (although it did not stipulate black, white, or both)
Anglo (Euro/White) are #3

Blacks in Russia make up about .004% of the total Russian population.
Which is about 40K to 70K people in total. And thats spread across the Russian Federation.
Asians are about 300K total, from all the different Asian countries.
Which means about 80% of Russians come majorly from Slavic regions, which are "white".

So, with Russia being a basically white nation.........
In light of all the race wars, hate, destrution, and killings in the USA...........Would you move to Russia because of this?

Not top 3. Russia is the largest in terms of land area. What does that have to do with population? They are only 9th in that category.

I imagine ethnic discrimination exists in some form in most places. It may not be black-and-white in Russia, but I doubt it doesn't exist in some fashion over there.

Russia is as safe as any other country.
Russia is as racist as any other country.

Russia IS tougher on law breakers and criminals though.
And unlike Soviet Era Russia, the FSB (what was the KGB) is more involved in buearucratic affairs, rather than targeting civilians for every little thing....especially after its downsizing after the fall of Soviet Russia.

The videos I watch on Youtube are mostly from "Travels with Russell". He is an Aussie who married a Russia lady and after working in companies around the world, they setteled on the outskirts of Moscow.

He has been asked many questions about living in Russia, and so far, he's not seen any hostile acts towards other races, nor against anyone not born in Russia.

From what I HAVE heard and seen in videos about hositlity, is usually smaller villages and towns out in the boonies of Russia.
Like many Southerners and Northerners here in the USA, they are very leery of outsiders in small towns and small metro areas.

I mean, people leave their bikes, strollers, skates, skateboards and motorcycles unlocked and unchained. Who wants to deal with the police for such insignificant items? Better to just keep to yourself and be a civilized citizen.

People are out in Russia 24/7. Granted its more during the day, but still.......most of their grocery stores are open 24/7 AND self serve.
Nobody dare steal from a store, as it is just as bad as stealing anything else. When you steal from one......you steal from all. And the Russian law enforcement doesn't take kindly to that. As it should be.

“Just curious” doesn’t cut it here. Neither does the preemptive ‘this isn’t racist’ disclaimer.

When your curiosity takes the form of ‘would you move to a country because it has fewer people of a certain race’, the premise is already loaded. At that point, any answer that plays along is implicitly endorsing racial preference. That’s not about fragile egos or people being offended , it’s about the question being bad-faith on its face.

So let’s reset to reality.
Russia is an autocracy.
Russia is currently waging a war of aggression.
Russia is in the middle of a demographic collapse.
Russia has one of the lowest life expectancies in the developed world.
Russia’s economy is under severe strain and long-term decline.
Those are real, substantive reasons not to move there.

“Russia is predominantly white” being offered as a reason to relocate, in light of all that, is frankly one of the dumbest criteria imaginable. It ignores every material condition that actually affects quality of life and zeroes in on racial composition instead.

I despise what the Trump administration is doing, but this kind of bad-faith framing annoys me no matter who it comes from. If you want to talk geopolitics, demographics, or migration seriously, fine. But don’t dress up racial preference as innocent curiosity and expect it not to be called out.
