Exactly the question I'm looking for. What will cost Biden more votes, to dodge the debates because his practice debates are so bad that his team says NFW he can debate Trump, OR, will his "chicken move" refusal to debate Trump be seen as disqualifying?
IMHO the MSM would try to spin the refusal as a "brilliancy" because debating a liar like Trump has no upside?!

Here's the thing - Despite media babble to the contrary, 99 and 44/100ths% of voters have already chosen their candidate/party, and nothing will change their opinion. Biden could masturbate a goat on pay-per-view, and it wouldn't change anything.

Motivation to vote, on the other hand, can be affected. If he doesn't perform, his would-be supporters may just stay home and blow dope all day.
