Our federal law enforcement uses several things to track possible terrorists. Among them are simple things such as songs, writings, associations. For example, Muslims who buy or listen to extremist songs online, visit extremist blogs, socialize with others who admire extremist views. In other words, singing, speaking of or admiring the acts of crime called terrorism get you targeted and profiled by the feds.

BUT.....to say cops should watch blacks because they listen to music that promotes crime, read magazines or blogs that promote crime (rap media) or associate with groups that promote crime (record labels, gangs, rap fan clubs) are NOT to be used. If they sing about killing ******, killing cops, shooting rival gang members, selling and using drugs, promoting prostitution, etc, etc, they are all crimes. Just like the feds to for terrorists, why not profile the people who are, just like the Muslim terrorists, listening to, reading, associating with and admiring an outlet of promoting a criminal act.

But we don't. We only profile Muslims. We don't profile blacks for their music which glorifies crime. We don't profile Hispanics, although 95% of illegal immigrants are Hispanic. We don't profile whites as pedophiles and serial killers.......oh wait, we do that.

Ok, we profile Muslims and whites, but not blacks and Hispanics.

Profile all or none.

In my opinion the Muslim profiling works because there are specific things to be on alert for whether it be writings, music, certain prayers, purchasing of specific items, etc. Muslims not involved in terrorist activity often try to assimilate into the culture.

However with blacks, all the things you mentioned is their culture. They are the most self-destructing race in the U.S. and maybe on the planet. There is not enough time, money, and man power to profile every black that listens to rap music, deals/uses drugs, sells guns, is in a gang, low education, or hates whites. The problems with blacks is that the destructive forces you mentioned are so ingrained in their communities that it can't be stopped.

Hey genius, cops profile about a lot more things than race. They profile based on the car you drive for example. Cops are equal opportunity pigs.

i do have to laugh at the young black guys who regardless of their intentions, will drive an audaciously painted Crown victoria with monster-truck sized tires, blasting music, and wearing the "gangster" uniform, and swear when they get pulled over that it's because they are black. . . . .


which of course is not to say that there isn's some (a lot of) unfair profiling going on, but those guys should stop and think for a moment
