Why don't some men want to look the best that they can be?

I remember going to see a Marvel movie a while back and the auditorium for the movie was packed and after the movie while going back to the parking lot I see this tall fat guy with glasses and messy hair with a T-shirt a bit too small with his belly spilling over the waistband of his cargo shorts who looked to be a older teen or in their early 20s and he was walking with a few other shorter nerdy looking guys.

I was like damn! I chuckled in my mind.

He was like the male version of this lol but pale, brunette, and male!

This looks like an older version of him!

What makes some men not interested in making themselves look better?

He should wear clothes that fit better and brush his hair, but a t shirt and cargo shorts
are perfectly acceptable clothes to wear to a movie theater

There could be several reasons.

He could have low self esteem, and has just stopped caring.

It could be that he thinks he looks fine, and doesn't see how he appears to others.

Or there could be other reasons.

What's funny to me is that when discussions like this pop up, the safe option is to adopt the "live and let live" mentality which tells us that it doesn't matter, but people do judge.

And the ones who claim to be the most tolerant are usually the most judgmental.

Most people dress to the standards of their cultures. Gamers who spend most of their lives holding their joysticks don't have the same style of office workers in corporate suits. Guys in gold chains and pants below their cheeks are stylish enough that they reproduce. Lowriding pants may look awkward, but they are probably less restrictive than pencil skirts and high heels.
