It's a cookie!

I've just discovered a bunch of beautiful, elaborate molds for these cookies. I really want to make them!

They are well known in Germany, but not everywhere.
I know them well

I never heard of these, but if you can send me a box of them, I can make it worth your while.

Just as a heads up, making these outside of Germany away from the Sparkle Season may offend a group of Muslims somewhere.

They might issue a fatwa or something.

Just sayin. :eusa_whistle:

Go ahead and ask me if we give a F*** in my neighborhood.

Those molds are often a treasure in families here and inherited for generations. :) :)
.

I can see why.

I noticed a lot of the old ones are made of wood, right? The new ones are made of silicone, which I think would be easier to work with, and hold more elaborate detail, if not being traditional.

I LOVE cookie art!

My gourmet chef buddy's wife years ago was not much of a cook herself but around Easter, her and the two little girls would go on an Easter candy binge. The wife was a great baker and candy and desert maker and in the Spring when I went over there, they used to order in something like 50-100 pounds of chocolate nuggets in big boxes and the three of them made up the most fabulous Easter candy. They made whole Easter baskets made of ornate intricate chocolate for people by order and the kids would sit there hand-painting plastic molds painting in colored chocolate details in the molds so that when they poured the melted chocolate on top, the painted colors became colors details on top of the candies.

They would have this huge table set up in the dining room filled with chocolate Easter baskets filled with all this delicious ornate candy. The smell just filled the house.

I mean, I just looked, and I cannot even find a picture of anything commercially which even comes close.

Don't even get me started on the eggery.

Far too much work for far too little reward.

I actually have a Cloisonne egg but not anything I made myself.

That is just a picture off the web but it gives an idea. Somehow they wrap gold wire into shapes and compartments then fill each with enamel then bake it all into one.

I also have a stained glass egg on a stand that lights up like a little lamp. The egg is about 10" tall. Not a cheap copy but a real stained glass egg on a pewter stand.
