I only use the best, a daskeyboard, mechanical keyboard made in Germany. Last one lasted me 12 years.

We here in American learned to type on the QWERTY keyboard. Actually used to take typing class in high school! Do they even have such a thing as typing class anymore?

I used to watch the transcriptionists who'd type the verbal dictation notes doctors made after seeing a patient. It was amazing to see someone type 200 words a minute without ever looking at the keyboard. Rare.

What was even more interesting was watching stenographers taking 250 words per minute. I don't think they even use stenography anymore, do they? I used to proofread for court stenographers, which was fascinating.

I can't do anything quite so fancy. I spill coffee on my keyboard all the time and just go to the second-hand store and buy another one.

This comes with a transparent key protector that covers the keys... you can type with it place or take it off...
the keys still look brand new and I've had it for three years...
