Mace's flip flop serves as an example of what happened to the POT en masse. Congressional leadership (McCarthy and McTreason) initially condemned, strongly, trump's involvement in Jan. 6 before they even knew of the details of the Eastman plot to steal the election. Rightly so.

Then came the realization The Following was still loyal to him. So for the sake of keeping their offices as elected officials they shoved Jan. 6 down the memory hole. Or excused it away, rationalized it, minimized it, found some way to sell their soul and give up any pretense to integrity or fidelity to the Constitution. So here we are.
