My favorites include Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis, Take Five by Dave Brubeck and A Love Supreme by John Coltrane. Coltrane is my favorite jazz artist all-time.

I don't listen to a lot of jazz.
Time Out - by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. My favorites include Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis, Take Five by Dave Brubeck and A Love Supreme by John Coltrane. Coltrane is my favorite jazz artist all-time.

I like Time Out as well. "Take Five" is actually part of the album, NOT the album name. My mistake!Time Out - by the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
My father built a Heathkit stereo system back in the late 1950s and I listened to this album obsessively, sitting on the floor between the two big speakers he built. To this day, I know every note of piano, bass, saxophone and drums. The greatest jazz album ever. Period.

Jack Johnson by Miles Davis - I don't remember a lot of this album but I loved it at the time. I probably should listen to it again. Not a huge Miles fan but this album was excellent.
I think.

Ahem, I have several Heathkits, all heavily modified. They are barely surpassed, even today. My father built a Heathkit stereo system back in the late 1950s and I listened to this album obsessively,

I saw them too in Berkeley. We sat on the ground just above the seats. Watched the sun set over SF Bay. and then the music started. The recording is "A Night in San Francisco" of one of the concerts in the area. Great Concert.Al was great when he teamed up with Paco deLucia and McLaughlin to make a jazz trio, I saw them live, I got a good picture of Al with my girlfriend's Honeywell Pentax all manual camera.
