The left is fond of saying that there is only a minimal part of the budget that is discretionary spending and to cut any more than that would cut into Medicare, social security, national defense etc.
But what they don't realize that within the bureaucracy of Medicare/Medicad, Social Security, DOD, FEMA, Education, etc. etc. etc. are all manner of ways that the people's money can be misused, wasted, be rampant with fraud and corruption.
To ferret out and eliminate all that only strengthens those necessary areas of government and even though there is less money involved, what is spent actually benefits the American people instead of unethical or uncaring bureaucrats, politicians, etc.
I can't imagine the mentality of anybody who thinks that wouldn't be a good thing. That our paying $13 TRILLION on the national debt is a good thing as MTG cited that figure which is correct.
