I found a very nice and lightly used Rem. 511 P today at a local gun shop.
25" barrel.
I gave $200.00 for it, about what it's worth I guess but it was in such good shape I could not pass on it.
The year date code is J which could be either 1940 or 1962 as both fall within the production years.
I'm leaning '62 as the date given the condition of the rifle, the bolt/trigger case-harding is still present. Great blue all over.
It came with a sling with Winchester type "hook" sling swivels that fit the same type of studs in the stock.
