My mother died a few years ago and I just put everything into storage. Just recently I've started to go through some of the storage boxes, throwing out, selling, keeping, donating stuff etc..

Mother's side of the family were into knitting and there's a MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE FOR VIETNAM paperwork thing. Consists of 6 pages, 12 sides. Within it are patterns for baby and children's knitted garments.

It's free to a good home. Just PM me where you want it posted. I'm in the UK so it'll take a few days. If I don't hear anything over the coming weeks, I'll just shred it.

I remember my grandmother knitting blankets and baby clothes for Britian after the war. Knittin for Britain, she called it.

I had an uncle that was in the German army. He was captured by the British and put in a POW camp where he was taught to knit. He was transferred to Canada and somehow ended up in a camp in New York. He met my aunt, a nice little Jewish girl. They married and he became a citizen. He never stopped knitting. He took his knitting everywhere. He made gorgeous things, socks, sweaters, dresses, kids clothes. Not for me of course but everyone else was taken care of. Sometimes he would just sit and knit, not speaking, just the click of needles.

Don't discount the knitting. You should put that in a frame, protected by glass and hang it on the wall.
