The weapon the cops suspect that was used to murder/assassinate the CEO was a B&T VP9.

Investigators believe the firearm used to kill Brian Thompson on Wednesday was a modern version of a rare World War Two gun.

Sources told the New York Post that detectives focusing on a Connecticut gun shop have zeroed in on a purchase of a B&T VP9 gun.

The model is an update on a Welrod pistol developed in the Second World War.

$5-7 thousand selling price on gunbroker. One auction got up to 10 bids but didn't reach the reserve price. It was relisted three times.

doesn't matter. Shooter seems smart until we look back at his stay at the Hostel. He will soon be identified and arrested.

It looks like the noise suppressor is built right onto it. It's probably meant for the flash, so you don't give up your position. I heard someone type that the assassin was using a silencer.

The firearm should be easy to track down. If not stolen the killer is wealthy.

9mm

The way the weapon operates makes perfect sense now when you compare the video of the assassin operating the weapon.....It was just the manual of arms for that particular weapon.

Bolt-action single shot 9mm with a magazine. Whoda thunk?

Obviously the shooter wasn't a "professional." If that was a "hit", it would have been done up close.

I tried to find the full video of the perp operating the VP-9 but they have been pulled.....Did anyone save it and can post it up?

Seems like the victim should have had security. Was he using the Secret Service agents that Joe Biden assigned to Trump's rallies or what??

The can detaches so you are looking at a very short barrel. Watch the video and the part about the "wipes". Nothing to do with flash, all to do about being very quiet.

From AR-15.com

They don't sell the wipes because the ATF considers them to be the same as a baffle. A non-licensed individual can make their own to repair their own suppressor, but it has to be a 1 for 1 repair, meaning you can't make a bunch of extras and keep on hand. You can only make them as you replace them. Replacing damaged baffles in your own suppressor works the same way.

Wipes work best for the first 5-6 rounds and then it slowly gets louder. After 15-20 rounds, they tend to lose most of the effectiveness. The B&T wiped suppressor is all wipes, no baffles, so it gets way louder than a normal suppressor. I have only shot mine 3-4 times with the wiped suppressor and usually use the baffled training suppressor, or just put a different 9mm can on all together. The wipes are cool, but kind of a pain for normal range use.

That's a pretty exotic pistol, not something a garden variety criminal or your typical disgruntled customer would own.

Wonder if it was stolen from a zoo, or something like that.

In countries without silencer laws it makes sense as it was intended to be used to dispatch sick livestock.....Figuring that the distressed animal is likely in an enclosed space (say a horse stall) it saves the vet's hearing.
Its stupid for people though. I can put a can on my M&P with no effort. He still needs a very traceable tax stamp I think. Very strange.

I am not convinced until we find the gun.

Shooting video.

Well, "Gun Jesus" agrees with you.

Now some say it's because they saw "gas" from the first shot..... Subsequent shots showed "gas" so he might be correct.
