It's to provide an actual trial court for disputes over federal law and the federal constitution between parties, to lessen the load on both the circuit courts and the Supreme Court.

We only hear of the cases that get appealed and have national interest.

The issue isn't the district courts themselves, it's them thinking they have national reach when it comes to issues, especially when it comes to constitutional issues at the top of the other branches.

Either there are districts or there are no districts.
Can't have it both ways on that one. Either you have district judges appellate judges and supreme judges or you have all supreme judges. The justices already weighed in on the ballot issue 9 to zip.
