This is really cool. I just came across this video. It's so nice to see cars made the old fashioned way, by hand!
The cars are all older, so I don't think it's an issue. The Japanese manufacturer even sent them a set of copies of the original plans.I wonder how these guys get around patent protections.
I'm not a lawyer and really don't know anything about the law, domestic or international. It may even be that enough time has passed that the plans are in public domain now. I've seen weird stuff that seems to contradict itself re: these things over the years e.g. Rolls Royce suing some company for making a wannabe RR front end for VWs in the 70s, same with 40 Ford front ends. But there have been Model A kit cars and Cobra kits for years. IDK.The cars are all older, so I don't think it's an issue. Only two of the cars in your photos display beauty and one of them is only a drawing.... My parents and I grew up in a world where automobiles were works of art--designed by creative people with an eye for beauty, distinction, pleasing aesthtics.

Each to their own. Some people can understand and appreciate the concept in these things. Some can't. And oh well.Only two of the cars in your photos display beauty and one of them is only a drawing.

And your definition of "beauty"? I’m not saying that there were not some really nice-looking cars in the era, but come on … look at the duds! Each to their own. Some people can understand and appreciate the concept in these things. Some can't. And oh well.
I think though that you missed the point of my post which was that auto designers of old created works of art in auto design whether or not you appreciate their effort. Automobiles were distinctive and creatively different instead of the cookie cutter sameness that became the norm. From a distance it became almost impossible to determine the make and model of a modern auto because they all pretty much looked alike. And your definition of "beauty"? No matter your purpose, you posted 5 photos: One is beautiful, one is questionable, one is misshapen, and two are fakes.I think though that you missed the point of my post which was that auto designers of old created works of art in auto design whether or not you appreciate their effort. Those designers of course put more effort into the classically beautiful lines and elegance into more high value autos while the economy cars were much less aesthetically innovative or pleasing. But auto design was artistically evidence then but in recent decades not so much.
As for the technical difference between a motor and an engine, I don't think those interested in the creativity in auto design really care all that much one way or the other.
The photos illustrated the point of my post which you still don't get. But have a good night. No matter your purpose, you posted 5 photos: One is beautiful, one is questionable, one is misshapen, and two are fakes.
You're talking about manufacturing beauty but your examples prove the opposite so you sabotaged your own point. The photos illustrated the point of my post which you still don't get.

A "fight"? Holy crap! Slow down and put a muzzle on your ego. I am trying to help you. Your photo choices to prove that older-era cars were designed with beauty in mind was a fiasco. The pictures I have assembled below are much better examples to show off the beauty in automobile design. Don't you agree? If you consider this a "fight" then you ought to take a break to rethink.I most certainly did not. But the way you are trying to pretend that I said what I didn't say is a pretty good indication of either inability to think critically or a reading comprehension disability. But I don't want to derail Westwall's interesting thread with a food fight so I'll wish you a good night and move on.
What I want to know is this: Those of us who are automobile-inspired know that cars are powered by engines, not motors. So where does the name motorcycle come from?
I really do not understand what is going on with you. My question is legitimate and valid. If you don't know the answer then don't reply. If you don't "care all that much" then don't reply. My question stands for itself and it is open for response for anyone who "knows" or "cares".As for the technical difference between a motor and an engine, I don't think those interested in the creativity in auto design really care all that much one way or the other.
Glasi is a troll. Ignore it and it will die.I most certainly did not. Excellent advice.Glasi is a troll. Ignore it and it will die.
