The situation in Cuba has become untenable. Within weeks there will be reports of starvation and they will only escalate over time. This is not good for Trump or anyone else, but Trump has not revealed his plan - his End Game for that lush island. Until now.

Trump is negotiating a "deal" with the Regime, more or less as follows:

• Immediate release of all political prisoners,
• Automatic repatriation of all Cuban exiles, upon application, for TWO GENERATIONS,
• Repeal of the 2019 Cuban "Constitution,"
• Free and fair elections within one calendar year,
• Establishment of a standing committee to oversee the re-privatization of all assets confiscated by the Castro regime, giving them, as far as is possible, to the families and corporations from which they were taken,
• Temporary designation of Cuba as a U.S. "Protectorate" for five (5) years, during which the U.S. will supervise the re-establishment of Cuban agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and other industries,
• Increase in the rent paid for GITMO to $10,000 per month, retroactive to 1959,
• Appointment of Marco Rubio as President-for-Life.

We don't need a naval base at Guantanamo Bay now. Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and a bunch of friendly Caribbean nations can have drone bases. Keeping a base in Cuba looks like an expensive vanity project.

It's not expensive at all. Just a few thousand dollars in rent a year.

I was stationed there, and proud to see our flag being the only US flag flying on communist soil.

We had a base in Puerto Rico and the Puerto Ricans kept interfering with our bombing range on Vieques island.

Gitmo has a huge bombing range for US Marines and Navy pilots to practice on without interference.

The Navy SEALs also use Gitmo to practice their most dangerous missions beforehand without any prying eyes to see what they are up to.

It's a great strategic location as well.

That it was a giant thorn in Castro's side was a nice bonus.

Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs: As a continuation of the investigative process regarding the armed aggression against a Border Guard Troops surface unit in the northeast area of the El Pino channel the following has been established:

It was determined that the neutralized speedboat with a Florida registration number FL7726SH was transporting 10 armed individuals, who, according to preliminary statements from the detainees, intended to carry out an infiltration for terrorist purposes.

Assault rifles, handguns, homemade explosive devices (Molotov cocktails), bulletproof vests, telescopic sights, and camouflage uniforms were seized.
Among the detained participants, according to preliminary interrogations, the following were identified:

1- Amijail Sánchez González.
2- Leordan Enrique Cruz Gómez.
3- Conrado Galindo Sariol.
4- José Manuel Rodríguez Castelló.
5- Cristian Ernesto Acosta Guevara.
6- Roberto Azcorra Consuegra.

All participants are Cuban citizens residing in the United States. Most of them have a known history of criminal and violent activity, including Amijail Sánchez González and Leordan Enrique Cruz Gómez, who appear on the National List of individuals and entities that — in accordance with UNSC Resolution 1373 and Cuban law, have been subject to criminal investigations and are being sought by Cuban authorities due to their involvement in the promotion, planning, organization, financing, support, or commission of acts of terrorism in Cuba.
