The first time we really saw that with Trump involved it was when "Hillary would win by a landslide". They did that because they know progressives are all sheeplike followers and they know that if they think other progressives are voting or thinking a certain way, they will do the same, just to join the herd. It was just a way of calling the sheep to order. It may have had some effect, but the lie was just so damn grandiose and over the top that it backfired. And they freaked out over the next 4 years trying to save face and attacking Trump for everything, right down to making shit up in the news about he how eats, shits and sleeps. Just lies, lies and more lies.
