Before the special session begins, state lawmakers are scheduled to swear in more than two dozen new members and elect leaders for the 2025 legislative session. Hundreds of people also are planning to march around the Capitol on Monday to urge the Legislature to try to stop Trump’s mass deportation plans.
Why does Gavin Newsome want to igore the will of the American voters? Not to mention pretend that California did not shift toward red in 2024?
It's even worse when Team Biden does it:

How President Biden is trying to Trump-proof his legacy
Before giving way to Donald Trump, President Biden is daring the GOP to eliminate his biggest wins and trying to take actions to preserve his agenda.

"Will the next president stop a new electric battery factory in Liberty, North Carolina, that will create thousands of jobs?" the lame-duck American leader said in a speech Tuesday at the Brookings Institution, a center-left think tank. "Will he shut down a new solar factory being built in Cartersville, Georgia? Are they going to do that?"
I sure hope so. These artificially created jobs in a dead end technology field are not sustainable without massive taxed, printed and borrowed dollars being pumped into them since the consumers will avoid them. Will this solar factory be any more successful than Solendra? If so, why do you think so?
As he prepares to leave office, Biden is looking to cement a legacy of economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. And he is challenging the very people who have opposed his agenda ‒ Republican lawmakers ‒ to help preserve the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, a centerpiece of Biden's economic agenda. The outgoing president is trying the guard the law that unleashed billions in financial incentives aimed at spurring the construction of factories that produce clean-energy products.
The voters voted against all that, but Team Biden wants to force it on us anyway.
Keep in mind when they talk about protecting the nation, they mean protecting it from the decision that you, the voters, made.
